The surgery was a complete success and the mass and adrenal gland that was removed from my right kidney was benign. One of the blessings of having this surgery is the possibility that I no longer have type II diabetes. My sugar levels are lower than they have ever been and they have taken me off of all my diabetic medication for now until further testing is done.

So, good news from this end and I cannot begin to tell you how much your thoughts and prayers meant to Donna and I.

Good to hear!

That is great news Johnny! My wife has serious kidney issues also only her issue is that she needs a kidney transplant. At this point she has 10% kidney function left. It took going to Johns Hopkins to figure out why she was loosing kidney function. She has sarcoidosis and it is very rare that it attacks the kidneys but it did attack hers. In july she goes to get her workup done then I along with like 6 or 7 other people are going to get tested to see if any of us would be a good match to donate. I hate Dr's and rarely ever go so needless to say the thought of donating a kidney scares the ever living [censored] out of me but I will do what I gotta do if I am the best match so she can live a some what normal life again.

ProStreet, I'm saddened to hear that about your wife and my prayers will be that she finds that perfect match real soon. That's a painful surgery but I would give one of mine up tomorrow if it would save a life.

I'll be darn. When you were at that sign you were 1 hour and 45 minutes away from my home.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. It's much appreciated.

Glad they fixed the bad bits and didn't leave any tools under the hood!!

Get better in the next day or three. When you feel like walking, walk. Best for better recovery.
