Man, all of my joints are very sore, especially my back.

Taking 1 gram Tylenol a few times a day + Ibuprofen a few times a day. Just took 5 Ibuprofen (1 gram) before bed.

Trying some "Real Time Pain Relief" (like Bio-Freeze, but better).

May do some Acupuncture.

After mowing the lawn, I am super-sore.

Who has it? What do you do & what do you take?

Thanks.....

It doesn't sound like "Osteo" to me which I think is localized to damaged, worn joints. It could be Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is an autoimmune disease. You should have blood work done to test for high antibodies...

Rh test a couple years ago came back negative.
X-rays show Osteo in my back.
I do have a fast Sed Rate (Blood cell sedimentation rate)

It's all my joints. Fingers, feet, hips, knees, back, etc.

I'll be cognizant about that, thanks.

I do have some scoliosis & I hunch some, but not bad.
But the pain is all over.

Fibromyalgia perhaps?

Feel for you man... I have multiple sclerosis. I understand what it is like to hurt in my muscles from spasticity. I hope you can get an answer soon. Does sound a lot like RA. But negative test results may not mean that you dont have it too. If it has been two years ago then I would retest.

I have a tendency to hunch over and always have. The exercises for this are those that strengthen the. Deltoid muscles.

1. Elastic bands (with grips) hold arms in front of you grab the grips with palms out and stretch keeping things horizontal...moving arms horizontal and stretching the band
2. Pull ups (even if you can't do it totally). Grab bar...palms down, thumbs on top. Try to pull yourself up. There is a machine (Lateral pull down machine) where you sit and pull the bar down. Does the same thing.
3. Machine Row. You sit and pull back on two grips (which raise weights)

If you have access to a gym (Silver Sneaker makes it free) see one of the personal trainers. They will normally help you some for free.

I use the elastic chords a couple dozen times/day.

Good luck!!

I have it in my left shoulder.

I take the occasional tylenol as I don't tolerate NSAIDs well. However, my best defense is to stay active. I lift moderate weights 3x/week using a prescribed workout from my orthopedist.

That is what keeps 90% of the pain at bay. I get the occasional catch in my shoulder during certain moves during the day. But at least I can now raise my arm above my head without pain.

I did a sprint triathlon last year. The swim training was very good for my shoulder.

Stop taking 1 gram of ibuprofen in a single does, the max is 800mg and no more than 2400mg per day, you must drink a great deal of liquid when you are taking this much ibuprofen, Tylenol is a fever reducer and not a pain reliever,

I have osteoarthritis in my knee, shoulder, thumb and toe. I take fish oil which my orthopedic surgeon recommends. I have found that exercise, yoga and massage therapy has helped.

I would see a highly trained orthopedic surgeon, get tested for lyme disease, go to physical therapy and massage therapy. This does cost money but over time should greatly improve your quality of life.

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis (yes, it's a thing...look it up

), which is a form of arthritis. It affects my neck and my right hip. 600-800 mg of ibuprofen a couple of times a day keeps me mobile, along with (semi)regular chiropractic.

The seat in my Saturn tends to cause back pain. It is better than the leather one that wore out, but still is used. Loosing about 20 lbs has helped out a lot. Still have pain at times.

My back locks up where it pivots. Need to do physical therapy daily. Unfortunately there is not many options for the Saturn seat.

Instead of the pain relievers I try to focus on cause of pain. Some foods can cause flare ups, stress...stress..did I say stress? Not doing my stretching exercises.

I have a book by Sherry Rodgers M.D. "Pain Free in 6 Weeks". She talks a lot about nightshade plants. Some people are sensitive to foods like potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, tobacco, cayenne, chilli, and paprika. Dr Rodgers was one of them and it is common to have pain if those foods are in your diet.

I was aching all over last week and a couple of Epsom salt baths helped a lot. I like to apply magnesium oil to elevate soreness daily. Also good for heart.

It could be TMB (too many birthdays). It seems like after 50 things start falling apart like an old car.

You may still have rheumatoid, it usually doesn't show positive on a test until it's very mature.

I have a mild arthritis, my fingers, elbows, feet, hips, knees, etc. but only one area at a time. I took 1 extra strength Tylenol and the pain went away within 5-15 minutes. It happened once a month, sometimes once every few months. Very rarely I needed 2 Tylenol if the first pill didn't reduce my pain after 1 hour.

My solution...

two 325 Mg Acetaminophen, (Tylenol)
(look at Wal-Mart carefully, for Regular Strength Equate brand)
Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc
Vitamin D3, and E
EPA and DHA (eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acid, Omega 3 fatty acids)
and Icy Hot (where it hurts)

500 Mg Tylenols will kill your liver if taken long term.
I can't take NSAIDS (Ibuprofen, Naproxen Sodium) because of stomach problems...

I've been dealing with RA for about ten years now. It was a bear getting to a diagnosis as it mimiced many things in my case. For the two and a half years it took to get the diagnosis the lack of treatment caused much irreversible damage. Not to frighten you but you lean on your people to rule it (and lupus) out and don't let go until YOU are comfortable with their findings. Also investigate Tramadol for pain relief to reduce tylenol intake. It may help.

The problem is that there are things that can help like a good diet, physical activity and some supplements like fish oil, D3, vitamin C and especially bromelain but the results take time and some effort on your part. So for most people that won't wait for results it's drugs only and that's a problem.

The human body is meant to move and work and without that your immune system can't keep up.

I might be actually surviving a very deadly cancer and I attribute much of it to a very tough regiment of physical activity and a very strict diet along with good medical care.

The problem is that the healthcare system is far too easy on patients and puts too much reliance on a drugs only approach. Just last month I was asked to take a stress test on a stair climber. Their goal for me was 30 floors in 15 minutes but to continue until I felt I'd done enough. I did 436 floor in 3 hours with an indicated 1722 calories burned. I'm in a new program allowed by the FDA because the prognosis for my cancer was grim to say the least. So far everyone that has dropped out of the diet and exercise part of the program but continued with the drugs and other treatment have died. I've been told that this treatment plan will not receive wide acceptance because of the requirements for activity and diet. I believe that the human body can do wonderful things but not without the help of activity and good food and some carefully chosen supplements. And remember, supplements alone won't carry the day.

Yes, maybe I should retest to see if I got Rheumatoid Arthritis.....

I'm going to get Acupuncture done, that was the ONLY thing that helped with Sciatica 8 years ago.

Thanks.....

(2) 500 Tylenols do nothing for me, it's like drinking a glass of water. Absolutely nothing.
Taking in hopes it helps a bit, but I should stop.
