I need to find a fitting for my bypass filter. I need a 1/16 inch orfice with 1/4 inch pipe thread, male on one end and female on the other. is there a good source for those?
thanks
Tim

Ain't nary ever heard of one of them type tyhings yer describin, try the WW Grainger web site or that McMaster-Carr place.

Or, grab 1/4" male:female adapter, tap it internally for a plug, and then drill your own orifice in the plug screwed into the adapter!

If you don't want to drill holes, search for 1/4" NPT bleed plugs which come in a variety of orifice sizes and can be screwed into your tapped 1/4" adapter or coupling.

i was planning to do the "build your own orfice" if i couldn't find the fitting i am looking for. kind of last minute since i am planning the install for saturday
thanks

Just for something I pulled out of my behind on the move

..get a nipple and fill it with epoxy (or any other temp certified hard sealant) ..and then just drill it to your desired size. Viola~! instant choke.

thanks gary that would also work. I ended up just getting a bell adapter from 1/8 to 1/4 inch then put a street elbow on it. I drilled and tapped the 1.4 elbow to accept a 1/8 plug which I drilled a 1/16 hole in. I drilled the elbow so that I could get the plug deeper than it would have otherwise. took me about an hour. so now I can install my frantz filter tomorrow after rebuilding my oil cooler.

thanks for the help
