While not the most practical to shoot, due to cost of ammunition I have wanted a .357sig anyway.

Today I stopped by a LGS that I buy from often and got a price quote on a new Glock 32 Gen4. The price was right so I had them order one. This will be the first Glock i've owned personally.

LGS didn't have any FMJ in stock for it so I went to Walmart and got a box of 50 for ~$35, Certainly expensive. Im going to check with a local business that is a manufacture of ammunition to see if they make any in .357sig, if not I'll likely order in bulk from Georgia Arms.

I also plan to get a box of the Hot Underwood 125gr FMJ as well as the Underwood 125gr Gold-dot that is rated at almost 1500FPS for a carry load.

I have two alien gear tuck 3.0 holsters already so I went ahead and ordered another shell to fit the G32 as well. The G32 Gen4 should be in next week! The excitement is building!

I definitely will be buying in bulk. There is a local manufacture that I buy 9mm and .40 from on occasion that is usually priced very well. Im going to check to see if they will make it for $0.36-0.40 a round. If not I will order online.

Cabelas also stocks it in bulk for about $0.37 a round if you buy the 600rd pack

I just purchased 1 box at walmart so I would have a few mags worth to run through it while I wait for the bulk package to arrive. You have to have some ammo with a gun, otherwise it is just a paperweight!

What did the 32 set you back? Seriously considering adding a gen 4 30, 19 or 26. Something a little more manageable/comfortable than my gen 3 21 for the wifey and something I can carry.

Save your brass for later resell to offset the cost. Plenty of us reloaders always looking for good deal on brass.

I have a Glock 21 which is .45ACP and my buddy has a Glock 22 which is 10 mm. We swapped barrels and clips and it worked fine. It may work for other calibers as well so you could shoot cheaper rounds when you want if it does work. Not certain but could be worth checking it out.

Check armslist. They usually have someone selling SIg ammo for $20 or less around here. Just checked and a guy was selling a box of WWB for $15. Too far away for local pickup. Last time I checked a guy had a bunch of WWB for $19-20.

$525 cash price. That is for a Gen4. Gen3 models were $501. Card price would be +3%

Both of those prices are cheaper than I can find it online. I ordered a Gen4, I think it is worth the extra $24

I plan to pick one up soon as well. I already keep .40 on hand for my Walther PPQ in .40

being able to make it into a glock 23 with a $125 barrel swap is one of the main reasons I chose to by the .357sig in the Glock platform.

Do you recommend a factory G23 barrel or a Lonewolf barrel?

The .357 Sig round is fun, but impractical. When loaded to its potential, it's a handful, and more. It's just a fun toy, but not something one needs to the first in one's arsenal. In a full size gun, it's manageable. In smaller frames, it's a downright demon.

That aside, be careful and enjoy the Glock! Welcome to the Glock family!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it! I dont mind a little recoil.

If you're just going to shoot .40 S&W at the range, for fun and cost-effectiveness, I'd go Lone Wolf. But if you think you'll actually carry the pistol with the .40 barrel in it, I'd go Glock so there's absolutely no reliability question.

Incidentally, the Lone Wolf barrels, I've heard, have full chamber support, whereas the Glock barrels don't (ostensibly for reliability).

All that said, I have no personal experience with an aftermarket Glock barrel. For all I know, the LW may be just as reliable as the Glock barrel. Guess the only way to know for sure would be to buy a LW and test.

I know LW isn't the only co. making aftermarket barrels for Glock, either. Another one is KKM.

Buying one of these is tempting. I own a Glock 20 and a Glock 36, and have been wanting to get a Glock 19. But the extra power of the .357 SIG, with only a 2-round penalty compared to the G19, is tempting...plus the ability to shoot (relatively) cheap .40 S&W. The recoil is not an issue for me either.

Incidentally, bottlenecked rounds like the .357 SIG have potentially greater reliability than standard rounds, due to the shape.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol carries the Glock 31. I've heard that they like the fact that the ballistics are similar to .357 MAG and that the round is proven to offer good penetrative power against vehicles.

Thank you for the input! A lone wolf barrel is about $30 cheaper than a factory Glock barrel in .40S&W

I've heard it isn't the best idea to carry and aftermarket barrel, for that reason I will likely buy a factory Glock barrel. I do carry a .40 sometimes so it would be nice to be able to carry the Glock as a G23 if I wanted too. I usually only shoot factory reloads and no lead bullets.

If I get into reloading I may change my mind. I certainly am looking forward to my new .357sig and .40! I've been waiting for the call. It should be in today or tomorrow!

Check out tnoutdoors9's ballistics testing. He should probably be a BITOGer - that's how professional and thorough he is in his ballistics testing. He adheres to FBI protocol.

This is amazing: Underwood Ammunition's loading of the 125-gr. Speer Gold Dot bonded, jacketed hollowpoint - 5-shot average out of the Glock 32, average of 1511 FPS and 634 lb-ft. That replicates the performance of .357 MAG, folks, out of a 14-round capacity autopistol.
