Boy oh boy. It seems that almost all of the mfg. are have some kind of serious issue here and there.

That is impossible, only European mfg's have issues.

There are thousands of parts in a vehicle today and the majority are made by third party so it's hard to make sure that nothing goes wrong. It happens... It's how they deal with it that's important.

The more plumbing there is the easier it is to clog up the plumbing.. I am happy the mfgs have the recall/campaigns.

Holy moly. I was expecting a poorly-placed trim piece or cover.

Quote
The largest recall covers nearly 379,000 Kia Soul SUVs from 2012 through 2016 with 1.6-liter engines. Documents show that high exhaust gas temperatures can damage the catalytic converters. That can cause abnormal combustion and damage pistons and connecting rods. A failed connecting rod can pierce the engine block and cause oil leaks that can cause fires.

Stunningly simple.

I have said for decades that mfgrs could save tons of reputation by quickly and completely fixing their cars. Hyundai has actually been pretty good about it.

Irrelevant. Toyota still does not want to admit that Aisin 8 speed in their AWD equipped cars is absolute POS. People still think it is best thing after sliced bread.
Go to Toyota forum. Average Toyota fan boy will blame everyone, tell people to buy additional warranty, but will not say: yeah, those transmissions suck!

I dumped my Highlander because of it. Absolute awful shifting. They got that wrong but that doesn't make the whole brand bad.

Nah, this forum member did not like what I was writing, so he sent me a private message saying: VW Sucks.
He did that in order to, read this: embarrass me

I invested in my Sienna since September 2018 more money than into VW since 2013.

That brand has A LOT of issues, but apparently according to people that is just normal wear and tear.
Let's not forget that that transmission is used in VW, BMW's (those fake ones with transverse engines) etc. and everyone managed to do it right, except, well Toyota.

Teamcraft cars often suck, it's not a brand thing. Look where the Toyota's and Subaru's and Nissan's with the most issues actually come from, they are typically team craft NAFTA cars built in Mexico or one of the flyover states. If you buy a Japanese brand of car, make sure it was actually built in Japan.
