Id like to know what you oil experts think the best synthetic oil for V6 accord? which do you guys recommend?
honda wants 5w-20, should i run 5w30 for summer?, i do a lot of long distance driving from boston to ottawa, canada.

Thanks in advance,

Jake

I was in ottawa over the weekend and they had Amsoil 5w30 for $10 qt at a local auto part store. I would of got if it was 5w-20. i would love to run Amsoil but its hard to find and im ikky about ordering online. I may consider motorcraft or havoline for shorter OCI since its affordable.

I would like to see some UOAs - even VOAs first - before suggesting either Havoline/Motorcraft synthetic.

If you want the "Best" -- with the word 'best' loosely defined because we don't know what your definition of best is, you may have to order it online ..ie... Amsoil, Redline, Schaefers....etc.

Are you willing to do that?
If not, then please tell us your defintion of "best"??

I may order online.

I would define "BEST" as to what oil had better UOA than others. I'm new to BITOG so the question was maily for members that have been here longer and hv better understanding for UOA. I personally have no idea what those numbers stand for on UOA topics.

Whatever is cheap and available in 5W-20. I've run the Citgo 5W-20 and had great UOA's. Pennzoil 5W-20 is also very very good. The Honda V6 will take pert near anything you put in it and be JUST FINE. I run 5W-20 because that's what seems to work best, though. If you are going for extended drains, I'd go Amsoil.

I have an '02 Accord V6.
