I'm going to be driving through Anacortes and on to Spokane Washington before coming back to Canada through Calgary.

Oil filters are much cheaper in the US so I'd like to buy a dozen for my 2007 Honda Accord V6 while I'm there (shipping to Canada is a real nuisance). I'd prefer WIX 51356 but I'll settle for another quality brand.

Where would be a good place to shop? Needs to be easy to access, reasonable prices and likely to have them in stock.

Whats in Spokane WA?
Place on Division in Spokane about half way up as going north called the General Store that sells Wix.
Re-branded Wix at Napa or? The box stores are mostly Fram.

Have fun in Spokane

Just taking a different route home. Should be a nice drive this time of the year. Thought I might as well save a little money while I'm passing through.

PS Thanks for the quick response.

I don't live there anymore but did a couple years ago. Heck go up there all the time.

Unless someone from Spokane comes up with a store having a good sale on, I'd
suggest any Walmart would be about as good as any. Fram Ultra has gained a
high rep and thats what I use in my Accord and Altima.

I'd stop by @ WM whenever possible and pick up whatever you can get your hands on cheep: e.g. Supatech, Purolator classic, etc.

Also: whenever possible: stop by at one or 2 oreilly's and check on their store flyers and see if they have any sales.

While you are at it: there's a WM supacentre south of that fallen bridge (the bridge that fell off a few months ago along I-5).

Enjoy! also see if you can get yourself some walla-walla onion spread or pickled asparagus along the stretch when you are close to spokane/ellensburg.

Q.

I like the idea of the pickled asparagus. Local treats are the best.

I checked out Wix sales outlets in Spokane and O'Reilly's figured prominently. Might accidently hit on a special. Not the end of the world either way. The last time I bought a Wix filter for the Honda in Canada (in 2008) it was $9.99. So the regular US price is a decent deal.

Agree that some of the better Fram filters are quite good too.

The General Store has good prices on both oil and filters.
Also a place called Five Mile Auto Center that may sell Wix. I know they sell everything else.

If Pennzoil oil filters interest you, the company I work for has a branch in Spokane. They should carry Pennzoil, Performax, Quaker State and Valvoline filters in packs of 12 at a very good price.

Home from the trip. As predicted it was a nice drive. Stayed at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane - it's quite the place!

Got a half dozen WIX oil filters for the Honda too. Interestingly I had to go to three places to get the six filters (each had between 1 and 3 in stock). I suppose that's good stock management practice. Prices varied from 6.49 to 6.99. The regular price in the US is a good price for Canada.

Thanks for the shopping advice.
