I'm thinking about using the larger oil filter for my 4.0L in my Cherokee. I usually run conventional 10w40 or Rotella T 5w40 with a 4,000 OCI. Mainly because the Jeep barely warms up by the time I get to school. Which filter would be better for my application, the Purolator Classic L30001 or the Motorcraft FL1A? These seem to be the best for the price.

I run the PL30001 PureOne (larger filter) on my mom's 4.0. Works fine, fits nicely. I'd go for the Motorcraft over a Puro Classic though, as IIRC, the Motorcraft is basically a Puro Classic with a silicone ADBV.

I thought about the NAPA Gold 1515 but its more expensive than a Pure One of the same size. I looked up the FL1A and it doesn't have a silicone anti-drain back valve. Some forums showed them cut open and they had a black rubber valve.
