Oil cooler

Only important if you have a Turbo, Supercharger,
do any towing, carry excessive weight in the vehicle in other words it is loaded down, run at high rpms for long periods of time. Other wise not necessary but wouldn't do any harm and does provide a certain level of extra protection. Bad side to an oil cooler is more places for an oil leak to occur

An oil cooler is fine on any car - if it is thermostatically controlled. Overcooled oil, too soon may not be a good thing, especially in very cold places.

But as ALS pointed out, demanding situations benefit more by the increase volume and namesake cooling provided by a preferably oil to coolant oil cooler and second in line (efficiency wise) oil to air oil cooler.

Pablo, please explain one more time why overcooled oil is not good, and what temp is considered overcooled? I believe oil should run about 190*, right.

If the oil is overcooled, it won't burn off moisture as quickly, so if you do short trips you'll end up with water in the oil, and more corrosion.
