If you didn't plan and don't have time to change it take it to the Stealership or Valvoline oil store they find the time!

Warning.webp

well I already put it..will I have problems from that? because if so I'll have to fork up the money and let someone change it for me

Use Supertech Dexos 5W30 available cheaply at WalMart, a good filter with the correct 22 psi bypass such as a Napa Gold 100255, and change it every 5k miles. Drain plug torque is 18 ft lbs. And if you have high mileage and havent changed your spark plugs in that DI engine, thats not a bad idea either. I see youre from Midland, I have a friend working there doing wireline work.

The oil should've been changed a few thousand miles ago.

The Lucas crap will dilute the oil's additive package which will shorten the oil's life, not lengthen it.

Lucas Oil Stabilizer is just a cheap group I solvent-refined bright stock that's stupid thick, high NOACK, and high oxidation. It contains no beneficial additives whatsoever. It's the exact opposite of what I'd want in a GDI engine.

I've used the Lucas before and didn't like it. Did you overfill the crankcase by adding it? Regardless, if it was me I would dump it and if you're not going to do it yourself go to a fast oil change place and get it done asap. 5w30 Dexos1 gen2 and new filter. Get the Lucas out. Good luck.

Did you happen to own my 2009 Cadillac at some time?

Change soon. GM has not had a stellar track record with timing chains, if you go 10,000 on oil changes you might want to save your pennies for new timing chains and gears, or change it every 5,000 instead.

to BITOG!

I would use lots of STP and Lucas for maximum length oil change extension. That should give you 25,000 miles.

(Just kidding of course)

Find an oil change shop you trust and have it changed. It takes 10 minutes and it's best thing you can do for your engine if you aren't able to do it yourself. Oil is cheap, engines are not and given the track record of GM engines lately with consumption and timing chain issues I wouldn't be chancing it.

(Not knocking GM but don't want anything bad to happen to the OP's engine)

well I got one more question....I have to turn my traction control off because when I'm not moving then try to accelerate the traction control kicks in and my car doesnt move what could be the problem with that? works just fine when it is off

That sounds like a bad wheel speed sensor. Do you get false ABS activation at low speed, like almost stopped?

Taking time to buy Lucas would take as much time as rolling into a quick-change oil change shop.

Good luck!
