seems cheap for "marine" oil. us canucks would pay double in my area
Oh, I get what you're saying now, you're saying that Marine oil is cheap here. I haven't looked at marine specific oil prices in a long time, i run Mobil 1 15w50 in my boat most of the time.

You need to add some words to your posts. Mods don't like that.

Other than that it's regular 25w-40 marine oil, nothing odd about it but it is expensive. If one really wants to use 25w-40 instead of 15w-40 I'd rather go to bass pro since a gallon in only $20 and seems to be made by amalie. $75 for a pack of 4. The bass card lowers it more still. Startron is also well priced.

No, he doesn’t.

It is a photograph that he took - so the fair use considerations to which you are referring don’t apply. This is his intellectual property.

Your argument is that folks given the choice for a boat are going to willingly choose a "Bass Pro" or a "Startron" product over a Pennzoil product to save a few pennies? I really don't think so.

I still have a couple jugs of Quicksilver 25W-40 four stroke …
But, IIRC - their 15W-40 is for diesel boats …
Merc does not like VM …

I see that it appears to be a photograph from a phone camera that he likely took. What i'm referring to is my thought that new threads needed to have words in conjunction with the image and not just an image on its own. I think it was dnewton3 who stated that but i'm not too sure.

Sure, but can you get out of Bass Pro with only that oil in the cart 😷

By that odd logic why would bmw say to use licenced bmw ll-01 in a new half million dollar or more rolls royce phantom if it can be had in a 5 quart jug that cost $23 at walmart and warranty it? Synthetic blend oil made to meet oem is a synthetic blend oil made to meet oem spec no matter what the brand is as long as it's reputable which amalie and startron are. If that was the case no one on here would buy supertech or kirkland oil either and would only buy castrol or pennzoil.

Supertech and Kirkland are proven brands, with strong reputations. Tuna Pro and Megatron are not.

He was referring to fair use. Please take a look at the site information for clarification.

Let me expand on this just a little bit.

If you post a picture that you took, that is your intellectual property, you can post it without comment you are using your property.

If you post a picture, video, or anything else that someone else created, in order for it to be covered by the fair use exception, you must provide substantive commentary of your own. You must add something to the discussion.

Otherwise, you are simply pirating their property, and not reflecting upon it.

It is not that the “mods don’t like it” if you post without commentary, you can certainly do that with your own content - it is that the mods, and the law, do not like it when you use someone else’s intellectual property without contributions of your own

Again, please look at the site information for clarification.
