Sorry if post is in wrong place. I just today drove past what appeared to be a soon to open O' Riley's. I wonder if this is the same store that I have read about on the forum before. If it is what brands will I find here? What sorts of deals/sales? Store is in southern Hillard Ohio area if anyone else is interested, on Roberts Rd.

I think the words deals or sales and O'Riley's can not be used in the same sentence.

Ever since O'Riley's bought out CSK, their sales/deals are history.

Good luck!

A couple weeks ago, while in New Mexico, I stopped off at a Checker Auto Parts store. No difference between Checker and the Auto Zone and Advance Auto that we have around Central Florida.

I'm sure that O'Riley's is no different.

We just had an O'Reilly's open here. I don't even have to go in to see it's not my kind of $tore. 3.89 a quart for YB Pennzoil? 3.25 for red bottle STP gas treatment? No thanks.

Below is their website address. I spend approximately 35-40% of my auto parts money with them. They are competitive in the Kansas City area and generally can get items from their local warehouses faster than Advanced Auto or Autozone (no NAPA on my side of town.

In the past they have sponsored Valvoline free and half price oil rebates, and various other free and near-free rebates.

Their website: http://www.oreillyauto.com

They also carry a full line of Wix filters, which I use with some frequency. I have been using them since the 1960's, when they were a local chain in the Ozarks.

In the "Big 3" of auto parts retailers (Advance, AutoZone and Oreillys), I've found OReillys to have the best overall service and parts needed are either in stock or available within 24 hours.

As far as oil prices, all retailers are overpriced IMO, but OReillys had some great deals last couple of years with reliable mail in rebates. For example, I'm sitting on 6 qts of PP and 12 qts of QS synth that I got basically free from OReillys after rebate. Plus, they usually have in-store manager specials on oil products, gotta check individual stores for details.

Speaking of details, OReillys has one of the better car care/detailing product selections, including 100% cotton chenille wash mitts from Viking, who is one of the top car care product suppliers in the biz short of buying the really good stuff online.

I have a brand new AutoZone within walking distance of my house. The Advance is about 2 miles away and is one of the nicest, most organized stores I've been in recently. I'd trade both for a well run O'Reillys.

I used to frequent Advance over Autozone based on a couple of different points. Now, though, it seems that most of the Advances I go into are all dimly lit, dirty and old compared to the Autozones. Most of the Advance stores seem to hire ex-cons to work their counters. IDK, I guess Advance is the K-Mart of parts stores and Autozone is the Wal-Mart. Napa would probably be Macy's based on their prices.

I just checked -- the merger between CSK (Checker, Schucks, Kragens) and O'Reillys was completed July 11 2008.

I don't know about pricing, but the local O'Reillys has M1 5w40 TDT and Walmart does not. O'Reilly's also has a variety of diesel fuel additives, though they had just run out of Diesel 911 the other morning when I needed some. The guy at the counter told me exactly which other auto parts store in town had some, it was only one block away.

Anyway, when/if I need something I will probably go to O'Reillys first. There is no NAPA in my town.

I liked O-reilly when they first came to town.(they bought out bumpertobumper) Their prices seemed to be good and they seemed to have things in stock. Unfortunately I liked Checker for the oil deals and convenience. But now O-reilly has shut down 2 of the 4 checkers near my house, and the oil deals are gone.
