Nu Finish

I would avoid it. New finish is a polish and polished and waxes are NOT THE SAME. Polishing helps removes scratches and impurities in the paint, doing so removes some of the clear coat. If you polish it should always be followed up with waxing. I recommend meguiars ultimate products.

LOL so many "Pro" detailers on here hating on NuFinish because its works as good or better than their $50/bottle stuff.

It just plain works, there is even a newer video of it and many others put on a hood and subjected to sun, rain, etc and guess what? That $10 orange bottle outlasts them all!

I find it so funny how guys that overpay for something feel they have to justify it no matter how good the product actually is! Its all over this board with high end oils lol....

There are better products for nearly equal $. Try turtle wax's new ceramic spray. It's like $9/bottle and phenomenal.

NuFinish is a great easy to find cleaner wax, yes I know the its a polish, but its really in the same family as cleaner waxes. Personally I am not a fan all-in-one products like cleaner waxes, but when I do use them my favorite is still Klasse-all-in-one. Not as cheap or easy to find as NuFinish though.

I've used NuFinish since CU tested it many years ago and then retested about 10? years ago. I would like to see a real test program like CU that compares NuFinish to some of the new "Ceramic" coating. I am interested in a long lasting, easy to apply and gives a good deep gloss shine. Ed

Nu Finish does contain a mild abrasive. Calcined flint clay

Agreed but it is extremely mild and can be found in many, if not most, "cleaner wax" products from many name brands.

It is a paint cleaner/sealant. Using wax after is entirely unnecessary. A true carnauba wax, with some exceptions, last a matter of a few weeks. sealants last considerably longer.

What new stuff?

I tried to buy Turtle Wax ICE Paste Wax and its not available anywhere. Oriellys, Advance, Walmart, Target, Autozone doesnt carry it (advance does have the liquid form which I might settle for)
The reason I want these over NuFinish is the plastic staining from NuFinish, so thought I would try the ICE which only can be bought on Amazon.

I like NuFinish and have a stock of it in my garage but will save for the boat, if the ICE Paste wax proved good. I never thought it would be so impossible to buy a quality Turtle Wax product.

Try amazon for the paste wax from turtle wax. I bought Nu finish paste from amazon along with the Nu finish rapid shine. The paste from nu finish lasted longer than the liquid frim Nu finish according to consumer reports when they did testing on waxing products. Nu finish lasted longer the more expensive Collinite 845 also. I'm not sure how long the Nu finish rapid shine will last. I used it a couple of weeks ago so we shall see. Anyway, good luck finding the turtle wax paste product.

I had an old 72 Datsun pickup that was red. It didn't have a clearcoat. When I would use NU-FINISH on it the applicator and microfiber towels would turn red. But, that old trucks paint shined like a diamond in a goats a**!

Nothing is going to last longer then NuFinsh and nothing will beat it as far as being friendly to your paints finish.

Ceramic is a "buzz" word for = high profits. Call something ceramic and it sounds so nice and mystical to apply in liquid form, like magic you have a ceramic coating on your car as hard as your dinner plate. Its laughable. Gosh, we look back at advertising from decades ago and laugh, just like in future decades they will laugh at our current advertising.

I am not saying NuFinish is the only product worth using, I am only saying for $10 or less it will last as long or longer then anything on the market at any cost and be just as friendly or more friendly to the surface of your vehicle. Just dont get it on any flat black plastic *L*

Its also great for boats and the main purpose of my current supply. I will also at times use it on the flat surfaces of the vehicle facing up, hood and roof of vehicle if there is not black plastic/rubber because its impossible to get off those surfaces and not worth it to me to be careful.

I just purchased some McQuires Ultimate Synthetic wax for that purpose, cost $20 but will be easy on the black plastics and such. Doubt it will last as long but we will see. I wanted Turtle Wax Ice Paste Wax for this purpose but shocked that no one and I mean no one stocks it any longer, (you can still buy on amazon but not worth it to me) so I read some peoples reviews on Amazon and they like the McQuires for this purpose.
Purchased in Walmart but all the other auto stores carry it too. Dont know what is going on with Turtle Wax, Im ready to say they are going out of business if you cant buy a long lasting quality wax anymore.

But then again, except for people in this forum, I asked/said to my wife the other day, no one works on their cars anymore, we are a throwaway society, no one cares. I cant, for the life of me ever remember seeing anyone in my community working on their car/changing their oil or waxing their car (except me) and honestly, I am sure at some point I must have seen someone washing their car but I cant even remember that!

Its why car washes are big business now and oil change places and automotive departments in stores are getting smaller every year with less selection.
