Better be careful. Might lock up the engine. LOL

Full disclosure. On this car only did 5k with Amsoil.

Several things in your favor, but still looks really good. Toyota V8, 260k on Amsoil, 3-5k changes... on and on.

There was an article in C&D or R&T not too long ago that had a million-mile LS400 with unknown maintenance history, so you've got quite a ways to go to catch up

Thanks for the pics!

extended oil changes sound good but in reality are NOT!! todays good fake synthetics are cheap so why extend + possibly cause issues in the future

You have some varnish which I would not be pleased with. My 2007 Fusion with 256K has no varnish with M1 20wt oils at 10K OCIs.

You are barking up my tree.

This was taken at about 200-220K in the 2007 Fusion.

Any discoloration you see is residual oil. All of my engines have never had varnish or showed any sign of ring coking.

To be fair, your 2007 Fusion (while remarkably clean) was brought into this world with API SM and then SN a few years later after it rolled out of the factory. So from the get go your Fusion has had higher spec oil for cleanliness than his 22 year old Lexus. Also his 22 year old Lexus has probably seen far more cold/hot thermal cycles than your Fusion so that too could cause an accumulation of deposits over time. Combined with the fact that the Fusion probably has a more precise fuel injection than the old Lexus. Mobil 1 is a fine oil I will admit.

I think both engines look great considering their age and mileage. Keep up the great work!

Since I have used M1 oils for 42 years my engines 35-40 years ago were always very clean as well. 10K OCIs. JS

Are you trying to send a subliminal message? Don't spread the mayo on too thick

Too much mayo can make a fellow gag.

I have 2.3L engine too, even though is clean as it can be for its age, I would not compare it to that from Lexus due to its age and lower amount miles driven over time

the best scenario for an engine to preserve its cleanliness of the internal parts is to be driven lots of miles over fewer years

Tons and tons of Toyota/Lexus vehicles out there with even more miles than that.

Cams look great!

I really agree with the cam look great part ^^^^^^°

The cam looks in amazingly great shape. That's awesome.
