Just noticed a post where someone was excited about changing their oil since it was almost due. I've been doing it now for 15 years, not sure about anyone else, but I'm tired of it.
Anyone else there yet? LOL...

I'm almost ready to let Jiffy Lube do it... However, I'd probably bring my own filter. Would cost me $10.00 more than when I do it myself, but $10.00 for less hastle....Just not sure yet.

Anyone else where I'm at yet?

BLASHPHEMY! I change oil 4 times a year for three cars. hasn't burned me out yet. it's been 11 years since I started doing it myself. Just knowing it's done right, I don't want jiffy boob tearing up my engine.

I change oil maybe 5 times per day...Not tired of changing my own yet. I'd say there is a little (just a little) excitment when I get to change my own.

I'm half-way there, but ONLY because my car is such a PITA to change the oil on!!! If my car was easier to work on, I'd love doing oil changes, but with the location of my filter, an oil change doesn't feel like its worth all the work.

well, I'm not saying I'm turning yet...BUT, if I do, I'd watch them, bring my own filter and keep that receipt. I mean, if they forget to tighten the drain bolt and it all leaks out, it's on them

One things for sure...this winter time oil chaning is really a PITA... What I may do, is just take to Jiffy if I'm ever do when it is brutally cold out.

Never tire of changing my own oil! I have to admit I started to curse when changing the oil filter on my crv.. but that car is gone and my subie is a piece of cake

That's right, Jiffy Boob leaves the drain plug loose on the wife's car, she doesn't do anything when the idiot light comes on, it ruins the engine....now you've locked horns with Jiffy Boob in a Battle Royale over who's gonna pay for the damages.

Doesn't sound like less hassle to me.

Think this doesn't happen? Don't kid yourself, it does.

The only time I dislike it is when it's cold, but I usually change oil on a warm day in mid Nov. so I don't have to do it again until around April.

10$ more?? If I wanted PP 5w30 from jiffy lube it would cost me over $60 + tax. Doing it myself cost $19.88 (oil) + $7 (filter) + tax. Half price!

Well, both my cars are simple....dodge caravan and a GM..
Oil filters are simple to get to, not mounted near exhaust piples the way some of those riceburners are.

I guess I'm tired of dealing with used oil, hot oil filters, dropping the stupid drain plug in my bucket of oil when I spun it off, etc...

I was changing oil based on miles on my small fleet. Since joining BITOG I now change one car based miles and the other 2 on 6 month cycles. I have 3 oil changes early December, and am hoping this cold snap breaks. I'd like to do them in one day. We usually see some nice mid 40 degree days early in December.

I get a little tired of doing oil changes, but the thought of someone using an air wrench to tighten a drain plug, or tightening a filter with the strength of a Gorilla with a breaker bar keeps me doing it.

Holy Shizzy!!! There are places that actually use air wrenches to take filters on and off? Drainbolts too? I don't like that.

I used to change my truck oil all the time. Freezing my but off or sweating my but off.

Now with my car, it is way easier to take it to a guy I know at Strauss auto. I bring my own oil and filter.

$11.49 out the door. Cant beat it considering one quart of redline is 10 bucks by its self!!!

HORRORS! You mean one can actually get tired of changing their own oil! I am devastated!

What if it happens to me? What will I do? I will feel lost. No it cannot be. You probably never liked to change oil in the first place. It can't happen to us.

Can't help you with the used oil or the filters, but throw a Fumoto valve on in place of that drain plug and you'll never drop it again in the hot oil

Man I can`t wait to change my car`s oil again!!!!!! And my gf`s car for that matter as well! They both come due for their oci`s in December. I`ve already bought a case of RP (got dealer`s price on it) and I`m trying to get her to hurry up and get to Walmart to buy the usual jug of Valvoline so I can get her car done too.

But yeah,I think it`s alot of fun!

I have 3 cars, MB E430 is so easy to do oil change with oil extractor and cartridge filter on top of engine and simple to change without any mess. Honda S2000 was installed with Fram Sure-drain and it can be reach from the top so that it is easy to change oil, the filter is accessible from the top and easy to change with oil wrench cap. Lexus LS400 is changed with oil extractor and oversize oil filter is changed once a year so that is not a hassle.

Fram Sure-drain can be purchased from Ebay for less than $10/ea, buy two then the price can be as low as $6/each.
