Nissan Profitable Again

My sister in law has a 2017 Rogue 7 passenger. It has been trouble free for them now with 175k miles since new.

There is nothing they like about it except reasonable fuel economy, reliable and can hold 2 extra passengers in a pinch for car pools they do.
I LOVE it. They overlook features/attributes of a car because it lasts a long time and does its job. I'm like that.
I don't care about toys and things....just make the car go.

I might be the minority on the Titan, but I feel it's one of Nissan's better products. Yes fuel economy isn't as good as some competitors but also not that bad actually. It is dated though and could use a redesign, but sounds like it's going to be killed off anyways which is unfortunate they could have done something there!

Agree and it is a shame. IMO, the Titan and Frontier are two of the best vehicles the company every made.

I know a couple people that have them and thought they were great, but its a tough market to break in - a lot of existing brand loyalty not to mention the big 3 have countless options where Nissan has 1 powertrain and a couple trims.

They need to do something different. They tried with the Cummins Diesel but no one bought that either.

I would have said a really basic truck with a unbreakable drivetrain for cheap - like my 2nd generation Frontier, but they seem to be going the other way instead.

Hertz, Enterprise and Uber certainly helps with Nissan’s bottom line. 😉

IMO, Nissan can flex their tech muscles and they’ve proven they can make niche cars(Z, older Maxima, Silvia/240SX, President/Cima/Fuga - sold here as the Infiniti Q45/M, Skyline/G3x and GT-R) and a solid truck(Frontier, 720). But they haven’t cracked the recipe for mass-market cars - the Altima was probably their best attempt.
