Went to WM and they had valvoline nexgen on their clearance rack for 3.00 qt.At their regular shelf it was down to only 2 rows wide and Castrol took up the old spaces.
I wonder if Nexgen is not selling or what?

That is a shame if its not selling. I would use it and want to use it.
Next time I cross the border I am picking up a few jugs. People need to support the green movement

That would be unfortunate. What would be more unfortunate is if Ashland were too far ahead of the curve. A lot of people are paranoid about recycled oil. Safety Kleen (or whatever it's called) sells a lot of recycled oil to fleets up here. Valvoline is pushed to the regular consumer, and I think it's a great idea. The populace may not agree with me, though.

Kinda hard charging full price for something used. Maybe if it was a Syn blend at Conv price people would buy it.

Like I've been saying since NextGen came out: If they don't price it below their conventional oil by a significant margin, it's done for.

It's not really "used"
If you look at the numbers (I've seen them somewhere) the oils are the same, nextgen and regular valvoline white bottle.

I would say you could sub one or the other in and never notice a difference. But the green bottle is 50% re-refined. It is only advantageous to use the Nextgen.

Half of nex-gen has been refined twice, therefor it should be more pure than non recycled oil.

But with how people think recycled means a lesser product, it will not fair well in the market unless it is priced below the red jugs..

here in my part of Ohio, trying to find the 5w-20 max life nextgen, has been nigh on impossible, finally found 4qts on clearance @ wally world for $4ea. I need 4.5 qts for my Neon.
If it was spec'd for 5w30 i could get it anywhere(mine is an '05, previous years were 5w30).

only sticking w/ valvoline cuz i signed up for their engine guarantee program( heck only using the maxlife, cuz i signed up for the 225k mi guarantee, where you have to use a syn-blend, and durablend disappeared 'round here.. just now hitting 70k)
