Saw them on Amazon.....priced over $12....which is a bit pricey.

I'll continue to use PureOne's....a great mid-tier filter...and with rebates....a great buy.

I have 3 Amsoils to make it through before I buy another filter for my Honda. Can't wait to use these in 3 years! LOL

^^^^$9.99 at AAP. And when all their stores start carrying them, knock anywhere from 20-40% off that price by buying online using codes, not too shabby.

i all ready posted about this about 2 weeks ago. i got one the very week they came out. but do not have it on yet. need 200 miles yet to get it on. it looks like a very good filter. but quality of the paint job is not very good. but "how important is a paint job for a filter?"

Maybe its "sure grip" coated? You know you want to hack saw it and post the autopsy ...do it..do it...

My local AAP is carrying them now. The "sure-grip" coating has over spray on the top area, not within the gasket area though. $9.99 pretty much across the filter range.

"Synthetic media for synthetic oil is hogwash"...all I read from the P1 users. Now Purolator has produced a filter, and their documentation says thats the reason...the sound of crickets can be heard across BITOG..

it is sure seems this way, but there is a paper by Donaldson on the internet saying that they don't recommend cellulose for oils based on PAO/Esters, meaning cellulose will be degraded. It is probably not a big deal but again better safe than sorry.

Synthetic media filters are usually longer OCI filters, and that's why the manufacturer recommends the use of synthetic oil with them. They are simply matching a long OCI filter with a long OCI oil.
