It seems that some think LC and FP are overhyped and yet others think it is great stuff.
Well I ordered a gallon today and will try it out as soon as my next oil change is due. I bought a quart of FP and will try it in my herbicide sprayer that has a partially gummed up carb. Hope this stuff works and is not just "snake oil"!

I just ordered some LC as well. I feel the same way as you. I guess I am just leary of using any additives in my carefully blended oil, but I will give it a shot.

You guys are going to be pleasantly surprised.

The FP will give the most tangible results in that herbicide sprayer. THe LC is more of a leap of faith. I am running two intervals one with LC the other without in my mitsubishi for compaarative UOA's.

LC is the ONLY thing i put in my oil, (unelss i had a dirty engine then id ARX it)

Ill throw just about anything in my gas but FP is my favorite, for there price they cant be beat.

Huh lets see.. I just changed my spark plugs and after 50000 + miles with FP I was amazed at how clean they were ..I will try to get a couple of photos of them when i next see my son ...he has a digital camera ..so I can post them ..
BTW passed the Washington State emisson test with flying colors the other day ..over 205000 miles on my car too!

A lot of the small engines(Kholer, Briggs, Honda) carbons up because of the low idle in pesticidal application. I've used the FP/LC and was very impressed with it's results. In fact a little as 1/2 oz(which is still too much, have brought it down to 1/4 oz)in 1 qt of oil is more than enuff in the Kholer and small engines as there is no oil filter. After the 2nd dose of LC, the oil stayed cleaner and lasted twice as long. It just didn't get as dirty. I've done the piston soak which I would recommend on these Kholer or Brigg engines and what came out was dark jet black carbon that was brokened down. Engines run like new.

FP is another story. We've got some real carboned out Honda, Kholer and Brigg engines that has stubborn carbon build up. I had one Honda engine that kept dying out cause of carbon build up. Nothing but black smoke exhuast. I poured in 1 oz FP/1 gl of fuel and like instant start no misfire and ran with no problem. In diesel application, I notice no black smoke after a couple of tanks(5 gl capacity). I've tried MMO in the same application, but the black exhaust was still there.

I really believe in extreme carboned type of small engines which usually has no oil filter...the LC/FP does some amazing positive things. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info guys. I also noticed they both smell exactly the same in the bottle they look the same. Just noting observations.

FYI - they are far from the same product. Only use LC in oil and FP in fuel

Have been using FP for 6 months in my cars and lawnmower. Pleased with the results, I have 2 older cars with over 100K miles. Noticed 1-2 mile increase in my gas mileage in both cars. Cars also seem to be more responsive or maybe my imagination.

I also found my spark plugs to be cleaner when I checked. My lawnmower start quicker and easier, used to start with a small puff of black smoke which is not happening now. The spark plug in the mower has never been this clean. Plan to continue using it.

I recently ordered a gallon of FP - my first - and will put it to the test. My '04 Mazda6 has 37k miles on it, and I've kept track of fuel econ since day 1. Never have I used any fuel system additives. Mazda says it's a no-no.

Though I probably have no fuel system issues yet, I'm counting on FP to keep everything clean and lubricated, and to get better mileage.

I'm mainly focused on the fuel econ factor. My spreadsheet will tell the truth, and I will be glad to share my results here.

Also, my tailpipes have no sign of soot yet - I don't expect FP to change that, but I'll be watching.

The LC I have doesn't have the same odor as the FP.

I'm curious if anyone else recognizes the smell of FP. When I was a kid in the 60's and raced slot cars the compounds we used on the rear tires for traction smelled exactly like FP.

Anyone know what that smell might be?

I've written many posts about LC in the past few years and 50-60m miles on four vehicles.

Here's a recent one:

Give it the chance it deserves, keep expectations low, and let it work for you over time.

I first used it in the very early 1970's when it was called MICROLUBE, and the old man had quite a bit of it in garage shop. Everything ran better, like the JACOBSEN mower that lasted 21 years and untold hours.

I get excellent mileage in my car - above what the sticker promises. As I noted above, I have no signs of soot in my exhaust; even after 37k miles. I only fill up at Shell, and I hear it has quality detergents in it already. Is it worth me using FP, or could I count on the fuel to work by itself?

I know the soot is inevitable in the long run, but should I be disappointed if I see it soon after adding FP?

I use FP in all my small engined equipment with good results. I started using LC in my motorcycles and will post UOA results sometime next fall. I think it's good stuff.
