New laptop- have a few questions

For a regular home user, non domain connected computer you can just use the built in Windows Defender.

Why put on a bunch of spammy AV clients that are going to prompt you every five minutes to insert your credit card, etc.

I've been using Defender at home since windows 10 came out and it does a good job. Keep the system on automatic patching and it should be maintenance free.

No it doesn't Justin!
It's why their subpar defense is about to change to a real defense this summer. The new Windows Defender coming will even have 3-4 user options on-board, along with multiple device-use.

Buy Webroot Antivirus. It's top-shelf protection is established. It improves web-surfing and performance speeds visa it's cloud. My desktop and laptop have not run this good in years.
