Ive driven by the plant in West Point, GA. Seems like a big undertaking. Saw the sorrento at the auto show, though didnt sit in it. Had good lines, average economy IIRC. Them and Hyundai seem to be making something for themselves, but not sure if they are truly proven yet.

What does Kia have to do, it looks like a fantastic car. Their quality has improved every year since I can remember, and sitting in their cars at shows they are about as good as the Hondas/Toyotas.

So yeah, you'd be an idiot not to give it a look if you're in the market. Plus, now made in the USA.

Yep I agree, thats why I was curious as to what you guy`s thought. And they have come a long way for sure.

Especially Toyota! I dont feel sorry for them,as others stated they had the attitude they did no wrong! I.E the U140F trans.used in the 99-02 RX`s should have had a recall. But they made the customers of those vehicles foot the bill.

I like it...but it looks a bit "big" in press photos.

Hyundai-Kia has done a great job copying the Japanese, but I wish they'd leave out the "upsizing" that occurs with every Japanese product redesign. A new Forester pulled up next to my minivan today and I couldn't believe it had roughly the same dimensions (roof height, length, bloatedness)...makes me wonder why they even make the Tribeca now.

That said, I'm definitely going to test drive an '11 Sonata SE when it comes time for a new sedan; I only hope they'll still offer their 100K warranty when I buy (at this rate, they might not need that gimmick any longer).

KIA/Hyundai? Terrible service centers and way too much required maintenance to meet warranty obligations, marginal to under ave fuel efficiency, high insurance rates - then the poor resale value at the end. We bought a new AWD Forester for under 19K out the door. Gets 27-31 MPG average, plenty of power, good room inside. Plenty of std equipment. And it weighs under 3300 LBS.

Yeah, our standard of living is hitting the skids.

Sales numbers have little to do with wise choice. Lemming Idiocracy is quickly taking over the US. The Fall of Rome, duo parta.

I think the foreign car companies will do well once the older "Pro Domestics" crowd dies off. Until then you will have opposition to Korean cars and Japanese cars as well.

You really cant blame them on being that way though.
