I have an unrestored 1958 Fiat 500 sitting in my barn, in Illinois.

Since it has been sitting in Illinois for many, many years, which is in the middle of North America, it made it here somehow...

Wow, the Fiat 500 1.3 diesel version gets 71 mpg on the highway (US gallons).

Too bad we'll never see the 1.3 diesel engine, ever. Why every other car maker lets VW corner the small car diesel engine market in the USA is a mystery to me. Any competition in this segment would be fantastic... and a huge wakeup to VW.
