I just ran into the new Champion Iridium spark plugs. Made in USA with a 7 yr unlimited mileage warranty (manufacturers spec trumps unlimited).
Check out the website plug finder for your car and click on the plug number to reveal a decent spec sheet for that individual plug.

I have never been a Champion fan but times change and these look like they could be a really decent plug. I think i will try a set in something easy to change plugs in.

I just looked it up for my rig. $5.24 on rockauto - $2.50 with the Champion rebate that expires 11/30. Right now $2.74 a plug. Good deal.

+1 Those are the only cases where I say OEM is pretty much required.

I don't. NGK for everything. Well, haven't done the GM yet..Thanks for the tip..

Denso work MUCH better in many older subaru applications than the NGK. Also, some Subaru and hyundai came from the factory with 8 or 9 heatrange champions (IIRC, my older 93 impreza 1.8L)

The Toyota manuals list BOTH Denso and NGK numbers. OEM install seems to be which of them Toyota gets a deal on.

FYI AC Delco plugs are made by NGK (I guess there goes the old 'they only work well with OE plugs')

I have been using this once it came up a few years ago. Performance wise is good, heat range slightly hotter plug compared with denso for the "same" code mappping.
The only thing is one of it broke the porcelain before even though it is still working, it seems the porcelain is not as tough as denso/ngk.

The other time I broke porcelain is when someone duped me with fake Denso made in China.

Nowadays, I use Bosch OE Iridium, buttfeel it seems the heat range is not as wide as champion, but so far so tough, no problem, good performance.

An ugly chick in a fancy expensive dress is still ugly.

Champion plugs are still champion plugs =

I guess Pennzoil causes sludge [or was it Quaker State?].

Therefore all Champion plugs are lousy.

And never consider technology improvements in the last 10 years concerning spark plugs.
You should only consider technology that was available 20-30 years ago.

conclusion:
The plugs look great. If the heat range is OK, they should be fine for a long time. Anybody's plug can be dropped by a counter person or in shipping, and crack the insulator.

amature hour in my garage back in that day.. live in learn

I put the Champion Iridiums in my Civic last year actually, I wanted the NGK iridiums but couldn't find any on short notice and the Champions were reasonably priced. I plan on running them for 100k or more, so check back with me in about 6 more years and I'll let you know if they made it that far

What is the logic/explanation that Hondas should stick with NGK, Toyotas with Denso, GM with Delco, etc? As long as the specs look OK, they should work the same.

That said, I'm guilty: Delcos in my Chevy, NGK in my Honda and trying to figure out what to put in my new Jeep.

Pretty much.

At least compared to other options available to you for the same or less $$$. Champion is the Fram of the plug world. Will they work? Sure. Could I get better for the same or less $? Yup.

What experience do you have with their new iridiums?
None?
I thought so...
