My uncle just bought a Bosch O2 sensor for his E30 eta engine, but when it came in the mail, the plastic cap got loose and some of the anti-seize compound smeared on the tip. I know how important it is to keep that tip clean, and he's unsure of how to get the stuff off. Should he just wipe it off with a paper towel, or maybe use alcohol or WD40? Thanks.

I'd use brake cleaner, as it doesn't leave a residue.
Hose it down good and hard, and it should be just fine.
BTW, don't forget to put a little anti-seize on the threads!

I had this happen before.

I wiped it with a paper towel--that got all of it off.

If it hadn't, my next step would then be to use a paper towel with brake part cleaner on it to wipe it again.
