Just waxed my kid's Wrangler. The vehicle has a lot of areas that are difficult to wax, for example the exposed hinges. Does anyone have any suggestions? If I use paste wax, I will never get all the residue out of all the nooks and crannies on the hardware. Today, I just stayed clear of these areas. Should I just hit the hinges with spray wax? Use Qtips? Does anyone else even think of these things. These areas are painted with the same paint as the body panels, so I don't want them to deteriorate. suggestions welcome.

I have used spray waxes in the past for the hard to reach areas. I hate dealing with scrubbing residue off the small areas since waxing itself if quite a pain but an important task. A Qtip is a good idea, not sure if it is really worth it however.

Drive through a two foot deep mud pit, deeper if preferred.
Sling some of the juice everywhere.
Enjoy the heck out of it.
Wash.
Rinse.
(Do not wax).
Repeat.

You could inject some Sense and Sensibility into it and make it a coming of age story in which a Jeep owner grows into the realization that the vehicle is designed to be used for utility and fun by means of getting stinkin' dirty and enjoying the heck out of it. Forever leaving the driveway queen moniker behind and blossoming into a self realized complete being.

That will be my only Jane Austin metaphor for the evening.
Thank you.

Won't leave white residue.

It will if you apply it thick or into cracks and crevices. It just won't stain plastic/rubber trim.

This application is an excellent candidate for CarPro Hydro2 (or similar). Just plan on doing it 4-5x/yr. On average, it takes 5-10 min each time.

I just use a light dab of paste wax on a paper towel, not enough to leave clumps don't need a heavy coat. A microfiber towel really gets in there and picks up anything visible when you're buffing it out.

Once you get some mud on it who's going to notice the wax on the nooks and crannies?

This ^^^ or any quick detail type of product. I've been using these types of quick detail spray products for nearing 20 yrs and love'em. But, they do seem to streak on dark colors such as Navy, Black, Charcoal etc. However, I use them exclusively and my vehicles are always parked outside.

Yup. It's a Jeep. Enjoy.

But if you MUST wax, know that the residue in the door hinges will blow out, get washed out, or be removed by the door operating in short order.
