NAPA Nascar Select oil filters, any good?

The construction of the filter is also another peice to the puzzle. Napa Gold filters uses the best elements in making of the filters. Pro select still has the same micron rating and flow ratio, but has less quality parts in it. The Nascar is a blend of both with the addition of the spinflow center tube. In my opinion the NG are the best, Nascar is the middle grade, and Proselect is the economy filter.

"spin flow"

My take on it would be that it's not effective unless fluid velocity is very high. Engine oil is moving very slow.

I think I saw the video a few years ago when doing a filter study.

If you connected the base plate (without media/can)to a garden hose with high volume of water at 50-60 psi would you expect it to be a good lawn sprinkler ? May be OK at full on.

This from the Napa Web Site

Napa NASCAR Spin Flo
Filter Resulting In The Most Efficient Oil Flow In An Automotive Filter - T-52 Synthetic/Cellulose Media - Industry Leading Performance

This Media is a step above the Pro Select and a step below the Gold, it has been a good filter however they have been changing the line over to a new combo valve (anti drain back/by pass) same as the pro select.

about the spin flow - I wonder if the spin flow is such a good thing then why don't they have it on their flagship model - on the Napa Gold ?

I haven't seen the video. Can anyone say what flow rate (velocity) was used in making of the video ? and how is that flow rate compared to the average real-world flow in an auto ?

Here is a cut open Nascar Select Oil Filter. The filter area seems to be too little

How do you know the ADBV is not made of Silicone?

Nitrile (rubber) is black.

Silicon is red. (there are exceptions like RP filters are purple).

Look into the inlet holes in the filter base.
