Nanotechnology in oil additives.

Has anyone tried car oil additives with nanotechnology?

What is the research behind that? Is it worth it?

Check out the link below?

Has anyone tested this stuff?

Nanotechnology is somewhat of a buzz-word now. According to Wikipedia:
Quote:
Nanotechnology (sometimes shortened to "nanotech") is the study of manipulating matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally, nanotechnology deals with structures sized between 1 to 100 nanometer in at least one dimension, and involves developing materials or devices within that size.

Maybe they use actual nanotech, maybe they don't. Most times, marketing makes it difficult to determine which.

Ok so an oil additive that you only have to apply 2-4 times for the entire life of your engine. A true nanotechnology claim in which in works its way into the metal making it lubed up. Lucas and other "additives" you have to continually use.

Unless they hint at what nano-tech that they're using, I would just avoid them.

Nano tungsten
Nano PTFE
Nano boron
Nano ceramic
Nano moly
Nano graphite
Nano sunblock
Nano DLC
Nanu nanu from Mork and Mindy

Gotta get back to my nano synthetic drink.

Very true and funny!

We know this path can end in only one way..

Sent the link to a friend who is the head of the chemistry department and one of the world's foremost experts on nanotechnology. His response to the "H2 Oil" is:

"This one - not really - but there are nano in oil - and especially diesel (CeO2 nano to assist combustion of carbon soot)"
