First try in this section, anyone know or have ideas as to why there have been no new mythbusters episodes shown for a while?

I think it's like most "discovery" shows. They shoot a whole bunch at once and then spread them out. They then wait and see how they go over with the audience. If the numbers are good and nothing else comes along that is better, they'll re-new the contracts and start shooting new episodes. Shrinking economy is now affecting the movie industry as well.

I notice some new clones/near versions of the show. I also wonder if the show is being intentionally rested for a while, so new ideas can build up. The hosts seem still game for the show, but I don't doubt that they maybe almost to busy to do their real jobs and this as well. I wonder if a spin-off is in the works for the junior trio to have?

but I caught a bit of that man vs wild show, he opened a trash can that washed up on the alaskan beach he was camping out on. Found a CB radio, lead acid battery, and pot scrubbie inside. Shorted the scrubbie on the battery and had instant fire.
