I get an odd tool every once and a while as a present from Mom. Just a little something extra for fun that she finds in antique shops.
I don't know what the heck this one is!

I believe it is a special plier to offset the teeth on a hand saw. The teeth have to cut a wider kerf than the thickness of the blade to prevent binding.

Hmm, this gizmo is in an aesthetically pleasing state of arrested decay. Nice. There's lots of adjustability available. I have no idea for what it might be used.

Dimpling tool for sheet metal?

I have a whole bunch of antiques and antique tools from two Grandfathers...... They are all smaller items, not furniture or any of that kind of stuff. I don't know what stuff is worth at all. It is very difficult to find out.

I don't even know what all of the stuff is. I should put it on Photo bucket and let people see it. That way I could have some things identified.

pcoxe has it right. Judging by the size of the handles, and the die, It's for fairly big saw blades. Possably something like a 2 man crosscut saw.

Neet find. Clean it up and it will work like new.

Thanks, gents!

The top screw is frozen and the side one works for about 2/3 of the length of travel. The spring mechanism and associated parts work. I don't know if I'll leave it the way it is or try and loosen it all up.

Definately don't need to use it!

It's for teeth but not for saw teeth. It's a prehistoric dental tool for pulling out teeth.

I have two crosscut blades, old and kind of rusty. I don't think they are worth much. Between the two there is only one handle.

When I see the trees those guys cut with those old hand saws I am amazed. Especially when you see them standing in front of Redwood and Sequoia trees................

I watch the show AXmen on TV. It looks pretty dangerous. I think it was more dangerous in the old days. But I'm going gillnetting in Bristol bay in May or June which is supposed to be more dangerous than logging.

I am not a risk taker type person but I need to make some money being unemployed.
