It's called one word....

SALE
grin.gif

Whatever is on sale at a good price. If the product is good (all the oils I have are excellent oils and will protect well) and the price is there, sold!
cheers.gif

All the Chevron oil I have cost me less that 3 5quart Mobil 1 jugs.... (and I think I'll get a few more miles of protection too.)

TallPaul,

Thats cool that you got a huge oil stash... but why a big oil stash? I have a case of valvoline All climate, a case of Shell oil and about 12 AAP oil filters.. but thats because I got them for sale.

I got it all on sale or clearance. Now I have 5 to 7 year's supply and regret I can't get in on the $2 Pennzoil Synthetic deal (I just don't need more oil). Anyway, the reason I started stocking up was to have a stash of SL. And it is cheap entertainment. It was fun chasing the clearances.

If your house ever catches on fire you will have to call hazmet. What a smoke screen that would be.

And I thought my wife had a problem with buying to many shoes.

Not shown:
1 gallon of FP60
2 bottles of Auto Rx

Here is my current stash.. Its not as large as others and I don't have any super cheap M1, but its not too bad considering I pretty much bought all in the last 2 months.

My Stash

11 Quarts of "Green" GC (3.99 AutoZone)
6 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum (1.99 PB MIR)
5 quarts of Mobil Clean 5000 (1.88 Advance Auto)
5 quarts of good ole ST for my Auto RX rinse phase (1.17) Wally world of course
11 quarts of Havoline, ( I bought a case of 20W50 Quaker state from a co worker for 10 bucks, returned the QS for Havoline. So basically I got it for 91 cents per quart.)
5 quarts of Rotella 15W40 (Jug was 7 bucks a wally world and the extra quart was free.)
1 bottle of VSOT (3.99 PB)
1 Bottle of Auto RX with 2oz left for my maintenance dose.

4 puralator plus filters (1.49 PB)
2 Super Tech Filters (2.07 @WM)
2 Napa Gold Filters from *Napa* 3.99 each
5 Free UOA kits from Blackstone

Not pictured
1 Gallon Of FP60
1 Bottle of Redline SI Fuel Injector Cleaner
1 Pre Paid Amsoil UOA kit
3 quarts of Amsoil 75W-140 Severe Gear Lube
8 Quarts of Toyota T-IV Trans Fluid

This is enough oil for at least 4 oil changes per vehicle. The 04 4-Runner gets the GC and the Pennzoil and the Rest is for my 93 Toyota Pickup.
They each get 4oz of FP60 at each fill up. The Napa Gold filters are for the 4 Runners. I run the cheapo filters and dino in the truck.

I have cut down a bit..I had a bunch of Green GC but after 1 OIC I decided that it wasn't the juice for my Matrix.. returned it to AZ...there is some Havoline 5W30 stuffed in behind the Kendall and the Plat jug only has a quart in it. Just got the FP60 today so we will see how that goes. I have been please with the Lucas...I do believe I have gained maybe 1 mpg since I've been using it...at least that what my mileage has been telling me

Yeah this crappy town house I live in has wire racks for shelves. Oh well we will be home owners this spring so I think I can live with it untill then!

Bill,
How can I tell if the ST is made by Mobil?

Here is your bottle of ST;

Here is my bottle of Mobil; (leaking...)

 -

Bottles are the same shape. Bigger Caps. It's Mobil!

The SuperTech we get on this side of US the bottles are closer to a Halovine shape. And much smaller caps.

First time I've even seen a photo of the Mobil made supertech!

Would you fathom that the Mobil ST is a better quality than the WPP version?

PS I don't know if you can see in my pic but I have a couple of bottles of SJ 10W30 Drive Clean that look like the Havoline bottles but they are backwards...pour the opposite direction with the label on the front if that makes sense. Couple of SJ bottles of M1 Tri Synth that pour the same way..useless trivia for the day

28 qts Havoline 5W-20
10 Honda (Filtech) 15400-PLM-A01 filters
1 gallon FP60
1 gallon LC20
1 Blackstone sample kit
1 Summit Racing oil filter cutter (not pictured)

hey bill,

do you run 3k oci with your 400 + quart stash? you don't see any syn guys braggin about a stash that large that's for sure. I wonder why
wink.gif
grin.gif
I would take a pic of my stash and post too, but my wife won't allow me to leave oil out, I have to leave in boxes and leave it in the closet. she was trying to make me put out in the bitter cold in the balcony storage but I won that battle.

No, I do a 3 month of some of the outfits since they are not driven very much and most of their miles are SHORT 1-2 miles one way, sit for hour and then come home.

My Moms 2002 Silverado 4x4 ext cab V-8 truck gets 3 month Oil changes. Her outfit just turned 13k miles! Thats 3000 miles per year and about 57 miles a week. And they do take it for a 1500 trip to see my sister once a year, so it's really like 25 miles a week use.

The only mileage oil change that I work on that is 3k miles (about 2months) is my uncles PT cruiser which states in it's manual 3k or 3months. Since it has a 70k warrenty, it's changed every 3k.

My highly driven Toyota Corolla gets 4-5k mile OCIs since it's still under Warrenty till 60k. Once it's out of warrenty, I'll go to the same!

It's safe and works well.. Plus it's so easy to change the oil and filter in less than 30 mins with not even a single drop on the floor.
fruit.gif

With a oil change under $6 for my largest outfit (6 quarts incl filter) you can change out the oil if need too. My 2000 silverado gets 4 oil changes every year for less than 6 quarts of Mobil 1 oil alone!

I had one of it's valve covers off (leaking oil) and it was spotless. I can look into the other other one thru the oil fill and it's spotless too.

Like I've said before, all of the outfits I've owned are still on the road and the new owners are having no problems making hundereds of thousands of miles.

When I decide to sell I have no problem through word of mouth selling the outfit.
