My Jeep GC 4.7L......RIP

That's horrible. I knew the hemis have valve seat problems but not the 4.7. My WJ died because the trans died. 229k on it. I'm so nervous my 300 will die with a dropped seat.
 
"Horrible" is a good way to put it.

You’re right about it happening to the Hemis too. It also happens to the 3.7s that Chrysler used to make. I understand that the 3.7 was just a 4.7 with 2 less cylinders. YouTube has lots of videos about this.

Every shop I went to months ago all were very familiar with the dropped seat issue in these engines because they saw a bunch of them. And yet I've read on Allpar.com of many trucks with these engines that went well over 200,000 miles. It wasn't my day I guess.


Not fair!!!!! But then again, who ever said life IS fair?
It stinks but ya’ gotta roll with it.

Wow...what a drag. I understand the pain. Couldn't have come at a worse time it sounds like. Nothing like getting slammed when you're already low...
