just get a usb stick you might have to rip your cd's to a pc then copy them to usb stick..
iirc fat32 format of the usb stick is recommended.
then copy music over to it.
if you need a "ripping" program to get your cds stored properly.. there are free ones. or free trial options.
even if you rip with high quality you can fit hundreds to thousands on a 16GB stick.

Does your Cherokee have an SD card slot or just a USB port? Anyway, the process of ripping music is the same. Here is one video to get you started:
