...how often do you bleed your clutch?

The Accord has 122,000 miles on it. I've replaced all the fluids (brake, transmission, coolant) at least once. I've neglected the clutch and power steering, though neither system is symptomatic.
 
In many cars, including mine, the brake fluid functions as both brake fluid as well as clutch fluid (one system), so there is no need to separately "bleed your clutch." I get the fluid replaced every 2 years.
 
I never bleed my clutch fluid just to change it out. I had my entire clutch hydraulics replaced after the slave and master both went bad. But my 1984 F150 went about 300,000 miles without any service to the clutch hydraulics. Is the clutch fluid clean?
 
In 105,000 miles on my Elantra once. When I did the valve removal.
Very small closed system without the stress the brake system gets. IE no heat.

I would say every 60,000 miles or when you think about it.

I do this with my clutch and brake masters every few months or so.
 
I'd still change it, I did on my last CR-V at 60,000. Brake fluid still attracts moisture and causes corrosion in the clutch system, though boiling point isn't a concern with clutches.
 
I'd recommend replacing the clutch fluid.
It does get dirty over time and replacing it might help to extend the life of the rubber in the master and slave cylinders.
I know that clutch master cyliner replacement on either our '97 or '99 Accords would have been a real pain, although the slave cyliders wouldn't have been too bad.
Fluid replacement might even gain you better clutch action in the bargain.

On the xB, the clutch and brakes share a reservoir, and I do the turkey baster every oil change.
 
I remember on my '95 Integra GS-R, I never did it myself, but had it done whenever I took it to a shop to get the brakes fluid replaced. Usually a quart bottle of DOT 4 fluid was enough to do both.

The one thing I didn't have done the same time was the ABS, which had a separate reservoir. Every single shop refused to touch it and only a dealer would do it. They were willing to do it with the 12 oz bottle of Valvoline SynPower brake fluid though and that probably saved me $6 off their fluid cost and cost me about $4. I had the factory service manual, and it apparently wasn't that difficult to do physically, which was to attach a collection hose and cycle it several times until nearly all the fluid was out, then replace the fluid. The kicker was that it required a reset with a piece of electronics that apparently only dealers had. That service cost me about $70.
 
I COMPLETELY flush out the clutch's hydraulic system at least once a year (more often if it has been a particularly moist year, or I got stuck in A LOT of stop and go traffic jams).

I have a remote speed bleeder attached to the slave cylinder, so it is a VERY easy ONE MAN job to do this.
I can run a full quart of new fluid through the system in < 10 minutes (including final fill), all by myself with this device.

I typically do it every couple years. My car in particular, the slave cylinder is very close to the exhaust and gets cooked. If I don't change it every so often, the clutch pedal will get soft when hot.
 
Never touched the clutch fluid in the crv. Should I suck some out and add or would it be best to completely bleed the system?
