What's the most outrageous vehicle you ever drove as a daily driver. I use to have a Vega with a 327/375 hp Vette motor and a custom chopped heavy duty rear axle with 4:11 gears. Very nice installation and set up done on this car. It was my only transportation for almost 2 years. Lotsa of fun on the weekends. Redlight to redlight racing (yea I know very irresponsible) was outstanding. My face was froze into a permanent grin. At the time I was going to college majoring in Criminal Law so most of my classmates were local law enforcement. Great bunch of guys and probably the only reason I didn't spend more time in jail and paying fines than I did driving the Vega.

I have a LT1 Caprice with mild cam, 2800stall, and 3.42 gears, not wild by any means heck I tow a small boat and make trips to the east coast with it but up to this point it is the wildest. I recently got myself a wagon that can be used everyday if need be which allows me to take the Caprice out of commision for bigger mods, once those are done I know I will drive it more than the wagon at least spring thru fall.

I drove a real 340 Duster for 3 years. It had the "340" on the sides and "340 Wedge" on the hood. It really got noticed!

When my pickup was down with a broken engine I drove the companies Peterbilt 379 home every night.

A guy I used to work with used to fix up cars on the side. Real creative metal fabricator (not our line of work-- his hobby, semi-retired.) For a while he was low on vehicles and couldn't always borrow his wife's Dodge.

He has this crazy hotrod with a shortened 1974 Riviera frame and 400 ci engine with a lumpy cam and side pipes. The body is mostly Ford Taurus from the firewall back.

The front is classic open-wheel street rod. Wish I had a picture.

I guess it was still streetable enough for him to commute to work with. We'd hear him pulling in.

I rode a 1982 Suzuki GS400 through two Ottawa winters. Traffic jams sucked because I would start to freeze when it was really cold out. I've done 120 km/hr when it is -40C and it was great. Traction on the road was never a problem unless it was snowing hard. Oil was another problem, it would come out looking like milk and smelling of gas after 700 km. Parking lots were also a problem, I dropped it once in a parking lot and broke the ball off my brake lever.

People would always give me the thumbs up and honk at me.

I guess my current car (98 Corvette) qualifies as an outrageous daily driver, considering it also gets driven in light snow.

Sunbeam Tiger with a 302 Ford that made about 375HP @7500 rpm. Had short stiff springs, Konis, widened wheels, puck type clutch, and fender flares. I raced it some in drags, autocross, and club road racing. Now I drive a smooth civilized Porsche 996 turbo which is faster than the Tiger in most areas.

I had a '60 Chevy 2 door post that had a '64 425HP 409 in it. Headers, Sig Erson cam, etc. But, then, I was crazy.

OK, OK ....still am.
