In your opinion, what is one of the most boring topics discussed?

Me: It would be the cutting open of oil filters, I can't tell cheese whats good or wrong or whattttttttttttttttttt! lol, imho.

"What oil to use" or something like that.
It's on the oil fill cap half the time, if not, its in the manual.

Of course I am probably the minority on here for not overthinking it, I just run whatever I want that is the correct grade and drive.

Ac threads where someone has a can from autozone! I can't remember how many times I have to post that a low side guage is useless when charging and that I need a high side reading To diagnose the problem.

I'd have to agree with CourierDriver on the cut open oil filters. Unless it is severely warped or split open, I don't care to see it. Otherwise, they all trap dirt and contaminants, and they all look the same. Also, I cannot tell how pliable your ADBV is from your picture.

However, the only this that DOES interest me regarding the cut open filters is the pleat count or surface area on 2 side-by-side interchangeable filters. This information is useful, since more media could equal a longer OCI.

It helps when you have good pics to look at.

Most boring are threads made by people whom do not know how to use search and google. Same things over and over again. That's why I don't participate that much anymore.( my prev username had much more posts).

"LOL you guys will get a kick of this gif you haven't seen before."

"Here's an advance auto coupon code for 10% off I got in my email."

"Here's a picture of what I'm eating for lunch at Burger king where I work."

This thread to start.

MBS500 is 100% correct. There are way too many threads that already have answers. It's too bad that as a part of a noob training the mods couldn't have them perform a search for it until they reach 50 posts.

"Will I hurt anything if I use a tablespoon of oil 'X' to top off six quarts of oil 'Y'? My uncle's friend's pharmacist's Rabbi's penpal is a mechanic and said it would kill my engine, or at the very least cause a lot of sludge. I can't drive my car to the store for the right oil since I already put some 'X' in so now I'm stuck. What should I do?"

Tedious.

"Need oil recommendation for my Anybrand Anymodel."

Why can't they predict they'll get 20 different opinions by 10 different responders?

This here's the winner.

There are FAR too many of these because far too many owners think their generic vanilla people-mover is a special snowflake that has some non-standard lubrication requirements, or that their owner's manual is lying to them for some reason.

wrong forum.

I mean, are people just ignorant, lazy, or what?

I'm with you on that mola.

What's worse?! too many arrogant posters here can't even walk da walk and talk da talk yet acting like a pro on the subject when it comes to providing advices to issues....some can't even change their oil yet discuss matters candidly as if they know...too many self-serving egos going on these days.

I learn to selectively filter some postings while learning from someone I believe to be real pro these days. Too many garbage on BITOG these days.

(* of course: a lot of blowhards and loudmouths also*)

Q.

Looking forward to it! I think a cut open filter is useful. Even filters without any problems after a 5-10k run will give people confidence the product is a good one.

For everyone else, there may be boring topics, but there isn't anything preventing you to click on that thread either.
