More Greed and Trickery

Yet Goldman is ranked "buy" or "strong buy" by most rating agencies. My understanding of the situation is everyone who invested in this particular scheme signed a waiver saying they were experienced investors. Boo hoo not every investment works, people dont seem to understand what risk means anymore.

Funny how they made an investment and then bet against it.

Who were they trying to benefit?

Pablo, outstanding derivatives are greater than the US GDP, by a factor of many times.

There's no production, no weedwhackers on wheels, no creation of anything other than vaporous financial instruments, that nett absolutely nothing to an economy.

I suppose if it makes people rich, then it's a good thing, eh ?

That is the sad part. What kind of payoffs might occur to have this just go away.

We should start the kids out young to get them ready for this. This is a future Wall Streeter.

Lets start with the 25 cent lemonade stand.

Me: I would like the 25 cent lemonade please.
Kid: O.K open your mouth and I will pour 25 cents in.
Me: That is not in a cup?
Kid: A cup is 10 cents more.
Kid: Oh, also the lemonade is unsweetened.
Me: How much for sugar in it?
Kid: 10 cents more
Me: I will have the 45 cent lemonade then
Kid: I am sorry it is 50 cents due to prep fees.

CNN has a story how General Electric made 10.8 billion world wide, but managed to lose 408 million in the U.S. and thus paid $0 in taxes. Add this to the list.

Kill all rich people.

I just see this thread as people spouting their philosophy.....but I guess it's not "political".

But I always thought people and companies should be allowed due process of the law. Just a minor technicality.

Nothing about killing anyone.

Except we see how a few greedy people killed the economy.

Some companies are responsible and contribute to society. Some suck it dry.

Who really needs courts Pablo. Everyone can plainly see that greed drove people from us all the way to Wall Street to make poor decisions that messed up not only our country but the worlds economy.

You do agree with that right?

The problem is even if they are guilty as charged will they be punished or will pay offs and favors sweep it under the rug so the pillaging can continue.

Yeah no courts. Don't need them.

Greed drives people to do very foolish things. But our economy is not messed up because of "Wall Street". You've got some learning to do there.

If you read from my post further up I started with "us" common folks and moved up to Wall Street. We all are guilty of greed to some extent and our attitudes helped drive the collapse.

But Wall Street has a huge impact and already got back to their old ways and huge outrageous bonuses.
