are most synthetic oil makers going with moly instead of phosphorus? or, Are they just cutting back on the amount of phosphorus & adding moly so that you have a % phosphorus & a % of moly ? I read that too much phosphorus will destroy cat. converter.

Phosphorus seem to go along with Zinc. When Zinc amounts are lowered, so is Phosphorus I've noticed. I thought it was the Zinc that killed catalitic converters. Moly seem to be the new replacement now that the Zinc has been lowered in the SM GF-4 oils. Chevron/Havoline oils seem to use quite a bit of Moly these days.
