I am having a second thought on what I already have done.
I just did a drain and refill with Mobil-1 AFT which is a multi vehichle grade AFT. My cars are 97 Camry V6 XLe and 02-03 Sienna van. I did search with no luck for any clue if this is the right fluid for these cars. Your thoughts?

Mobil 1 might not be a good idea for the 02-03 Sienna van.

You should call your local mechanic/garage.
I think the sienna atf spec if type-IV fluid.

Yes both call for DIII. Thanks you both for clarifications.
Is there a better choice in type but not brand?

Right now, there is no conclusive data to say that Dexron-VI is superior to a synthetic Dexron-III. So based on that, either would be better choices over conventional Dexron-III.

Actually, GM has published technical papers with the SAE that has indicated the performance superiority of DEXRON VI over synthetic Dexron III fluids. WhiteWolf could probably give us the exact paper IDs and one of us could go buy it and read it.

I knew their data showed a superiority over conventional Dexron-III. This is a first that has been stated about a synthetic Dexron-VI. I know I'm mistaken at times, but I'd be interested in seeing this data.

It isn't surprising that Dexron VI provides equal or superior performance to a synthetic Dexron III(H) fluid in the area of oxidation as Dexron VI is marketed by Valvoline as a full synthetic formulation. Oxidation aside, Dexron VI should still perform better than Dexron III(H) because the Dexron VI additive package is designed for a longer service life along with more stable frictional properties throughout the life of the fluid.

Gm isn't Toyota. Sure, DexronVI should work in any NON-GM transmission filled with any of the earlier dexrons. I'm a risk taker and gambler, are you?

Since you require Dexron, I see no reason to remove the Mobil1 ATF. Great stuff.

I, BTW, have no faith in GM or any of their testing. Sorry guys, not independent enough for me.
