So funny you ask!! I just picked up some M1 AFE 0w20 and was thinking of mixing with my remaining PU 5w20..wats ur reasoning?
PU has great detergents and AFE is PAO based. So I thought I would create a mutant mega oil.

Some may say I have too much time on my hands. What about this natural gas made base stock on the PU. Is it compatible with the normal hydrocracked base stock?
I wish I had gotten into chemical engineering. I can tell you I would have been a happy camper making oil.

Identical to AFE. I might give it a shot next time. Zero weight oils are the way to go.

In general most any oil you buy is designed to be compatible with any other oil regardless of base stock. And in general even though they are compatible it is usually never ideal to mix oil either because of different chemistry's and additives.
And I have never gotten any definitive information on whether mixing two identical brand oils such as a 5w20 with a 5w40 will truly result in a 5w30 weight...or is the result mixture just a bunch of 5w20 molecules swimming with 5w40 molecules. I know many assume it becomes a 5w30, but I've seen many assumptions backfire.

im sure the battery would be up for that..

The coldest it gets here is about -5 or -6 degrees Celsius
