Gary, I must say I am always amazed at your ability to turn almost any situation into some kind of class struggle.

Dude you need to get a life instead of getting your panties in a wad over some misspelled words...When I am asking a question here and get a answer within seconds after posting it I am very greatful...I could not care less about misspelled words.

Since all this bothers you so much why don't you ask Helen if you can become a moderator so you can be top dog here in the grammar department...Maybe you can ask the moderators here for spell check if it bothers you that much.

Not at all. I'm merely reminded how people of distinction have treated me when they were miles ahead or above me.

You're stating a personal "preference" in how OTHERS conduct themselves in your midst.

I'm sure that a good share of the errors are from people who are struggling to meet some "standard" of compliance with (poorly) providing exactly what you seek.

Think of someone saying that you should "dress up" since they feel that your clothing selection is inappropriate for the milieu. You then go out and put together the equivalent of a leisure suit in an attempt to "do it right".

..but, again, in my seeking of insight into the nuances of group dynamics ....why is "corrective action" so important to you?

I'm just curious.

That happened last night at the 11TH Street Diner in Miami Beach...After I starred at the clown for 60 seconds he finally stopped doing it.

When Joyce and I ate (weekly) at one Chinese restaurant, the "uncle" would purposely walk to a given point in the eating area and LOUDLY SNEEZE ..with enhanced animations. The owner would just shake his head in some resignation. It was obviously some theory of relativity at play there. He had to endure it.

Sounds like you're taking this a lot more seriously than the OP.

Your probably right.

milieu = the surroundings ..environment.

When I was in human services, there were a bunch of psyche majors that would play games of top this in how complex you could describe .. well..just about anything. They would come up with increasingly creative ways to write their reports. It sorta became a competition for who was going to coin the next evolution in how you referred to something. I would counter with introducing more technical terms like ..the subject evidenced substantial "propagation delay" when prompted by staff. They too didn't see the contradiction in taking exception to exceptional terms ..while they were always reaching for more obscure exceptional terms.

That is, "why does this bother you so much? You don't seem to have trouble subjecting others to your version".

gary -- i was just being sarcastic, as it's a word that one rarely uses -- especially on bitog.
re: the rest of your post -- there's an old line that states that the only thing worse than a psyche major is a psyche minor.
quite a barrage of posts here for the last 20 min.my brain hurts. i need a beer, and to finish watching the ball game.

I didn't think you were short on the meaning. It was merely an example of how one can complicate things if one desires to.

Enjoy your beer and the game
