Mid 90's Avalon?

Ran a 96 1mzfe to 255k, now is being used daily to run pizzas by a friend. Had valve covers off, varnish but no sludge.

Now have a 01 Avalon. Silky smooth engines. Even if sludged, I'm sure they'd still go 250-300k.

This has been listed for a while, and... right price, rust is setting in, but man I can't get past the looks. What were they thinking? Would also have to fix those windows, although I'm guessing that can't be that hard.

Really need to shop down south. By the time rust is visible on the wheelwells it is quite crispy underneath.
Wow I've never seen a rag top Camry before! I've test driven a couple pre-OBD-II Camrys with the 2.2, they had noticeably more power.

Yes those are ugly, but that looks like a real winner! $900 is less than 2 car payments. If it made it 2 months you'd still be in the black. If you drove it for a year and sold it for $900 and bought something else, you wouldn't be out anything. Window regulators with motors are $40-60 on Amazon, they're easy to change too.

There's no way it dies mechanically before your climate rusts it out. I don't see how you could go wrong.

Not a convertible (says so in the ad). I've never seen vinyl roof on a Camry. No idea what might lurk underneath...

Doors ought to be easy to open up, it's not like it *has* to go back together.

It's a couple hours to Nashua, half that if I skip out during the workday. Makes that problematic: it's too dark to look after work.

Yep, I know that. BTDT.

Sure, but it's still going into the wrong season. It might be a warm Christmas but it'll be a cold New Year I bet.

"Special Edition" fabric/vinyl (convertible-looking) roofs (sometimes call Landau) are more common than you'd think...and pretty ugly I think...a painted black top on the other hand....

Good god that roof...

Looks even worse than the fake-convertible Mercury Sables. Nothing screams "Grandpa car" more than a fake convertible roof. And as if the top wasn't Grandpa-esque enough, they also had to add a luggage rack to the trunk!

The guy's a curbstoner if that bothers you.

"It's my mother in laws car" = "my name doesn't match the title"

You can also see he hosed out the engine compartment and vacuumed the interior.

Never hustle a hustler! He knows more about this car than you. If he can't get an inspection sticker, he's passing it on to the next chump.

But go look at it, why not? Just put it on ramps and crawl around underneath... thoroughly.

Those are great cars, I had one as my first car 12 years ago. To old now though.

Hmm, didn't think about the curbstone aspect. Would be ok though, don't need a title for '99 and older. Makes paperwork easier to have, but current or expired registration with bill of sale ought to be enough.

Hey luggage racks are cool! At the young age of 16 I went to the junkyard to seek out one for my Oldsmobile.

Course, I've never been normal...

Some cars do look nice with the trunk luggage rack!

None look good with a fake convertible top and Vogue tyres.

You know, I think it works. For that car, and that vintage.

These rims would rock!

They're from a Town & Country but will fit camrys too.

Visiting family over the holidays, just a quick trip.

Georgetown? That's where the plant is.

I'm down south of Lexington -- hope you have a great time with the family!
