I haven't had a filter so torn for more than a decade ... oh well.
I bought this 09 Expedition used at an auction, oil was clear so I let it do it's time. Oil level was kinda high, so (in hind sight) I imagine they didn't bother changing the filter too.
In conclusion this filter was in use for at least 4800 miles and 14 months.
Filter drained for 5 days and it didn't hold any oil when cut. That combo valve sucks at both drainback and bypass
There is quite a bit of crud caught in between the pleats.
Rust on the base plate exterior is most likely from ski duty.
