They were quiet, wore evenly and worked well in the wet, I'll give them that.

Primacy in snow? It is not junk, it is not intended for snow unless some extraordinary circumstances.

Just looked, and they are marketed as an all season.

Sure, we all know that all seasons aren't. But I've had bald tires do better in snow. The prior Energies were better. These tires were the worst a/s I've had in snow. The car would suddenly go sideways while driving forward--strangest sensation we've had, and we both noticed it. It would dart sideways. RT43's and the car is fine in snow. [Not that it matters anymore, got some snows now for that car.] Tires were about at wear bars at 30k, and by 40k were truly bald--although I will say they finally were giving up wet traction at that point. Miserable tire IMO. RT43's last as long or longer, better snow traction, and cheaper to boot. MPG penalty though, I will admit that.

My LTX's were no picnic in snow either.

IDK, I used a set of Primacy tires through some pretty bad winter conditions on one of our old Accords and they were okay.
The Energy tires the car came on weren't all that awful either, although neither were they all that great.
The Primacy tires did give a nice long tread life though, nearly 70K.
Obviously, YMMV.

1. A/S tire performance in snow is not indication is tire good or not.
2. Tire that last longer then 30-40k is not tire that I want on car in which my kid sits. There is a reason why they gave up wet performance at the end, because it is expensive to make tire like that. There is a reason why other tires gave up wet performance much earlier. They could last 70k, I could not care less. I want them to stop in wet as shortest as possible. Tires are cheap, life is not.
I have on BMW now Michelin Premier LTX. Will last 25k at most. Could not care less, as they brake and hold road in wet like crazy. Only thing I have to look for are people behind me driving I guess on RT43's. But hey, you get more miles.

Yes. He's REALLY hard on tires. These drivers are the WORST for tire longevity.

Your Dad puts more wear on a tire driving uptown to get his coffee and paper, stopping by the post office, running into the bank, and stopping by the grocery store than someone driving 80MPH down the highway for 1000 miles.
