Anybody else wear an earring, have one in my left ear, got it when i was in the NAVY, old seafarer tradition, also if you were straight left ear, gay right. Anymore more and more guys wear both sides, i'll stick with one.

I used to have two in my left ear and one in my right back when I sailed. I also had an eyebrow ring.

As soon as I got a real engineering job I got rid of the face bling.

I had the obligatory left ear earring along with a shaggy mullet in the late 1980s. Once the 1980s ended, the earring was history and the mullet got cut haha!!

Left doesn't mean gay. Gay folks like to have earings to bling it up though. Usually the larger diamond looking studs or the bar from the upper ear to the lower ear or the "U" with the diamond or balled ends.
That said I don't have one but my brother does have the bar and he has a wife/kid.

Back in the 1980's it was rumored that if you had an earing in your right ear you were gay and in the left ear you were straight but this wasn't the case in large scale. Maybe locally somewhere.

Besides with the Grindr (Gay Tindr) app there is no need for cues any longer or so my friends tell me...

When I was in HS our dean said only one studded earring with no "evil" thing like skull, machine gun, horn monster, etc. Never said you cannot put it on right or left.

Once my friend told me he got hit on by all sorts of gay men at gas station, then he found out that Jetta is a typical gay man's car. (He just got it new not knowing it)

I'm sorry, but for the life of me, I can't understand why any man would want to wear an earring or earrings. Same for facial metal, especially rings in the nose. But to each their own.

I agree. I think its tacky. I'm seeing older men....70's? Wearing ear rings and eye brow rings now. Left over hippies?

Got an ear-ring when I finished my exams in second year engineering degree.

Still have it.

Single silver sleeper....no idea what happened to the various dangly skulls and things over the last 32 years.

I don't wear any jewelry, except for my $20-80 Casio watches. Piercings were more of a rebellious thing after leaving the academy than anything else.

Speaking of needles, I got my eyebrow piercing in Condado, Puerto Rico, and they used what I remember as a 6" needle. Dude forgot something after the piercing, so he left the needle installed, gently resting on my cheek, across my eye, while he went to get it. That seemed a little dicey.

And piercings have been around just as long.
