I have always used liquid wax with a applicator by hand. Last night I saw NXT in a paste form in a can. Is there a difference?

I understand that paste wax is a higher concentration of carnauba where carnauba waxes are concerned, but I'm not sure what it means to the new polymer products. If you go with that theory, the liquids are a watered-down version of the pastes.

In my experience the paste versions of a wax tend to last longer and look a little better than the liquid versions.

Since pastes are meant for hand application only, liquids exist to be applied by hand or machine. If you plan to use the product by hand and have a choice, I usually recommend the paste version. I think you'll find the application/removal a bit easier than the liquid version.

Another advantage of the paste -- is that you can melt it down, and start mixing it it with other pastes (S100, P21S, Nattys, etc.). Yes we have home oil brew mixes, and now paste wax.

The paste version of NXT has less problems with leaving a greasy and hazy mess behind too. I find that a fresh bottle of NXT liquid works great but once it's a few months old it's chemistry changes drastically and it takes much longer to dry, is greasy when you remove it, and leaves behind a lot of cloudiness on my black paint (which eventually comes off with detailing spray, but it still bothers me that a fresh coat of NXT doesn't look it's best right off the bat, which is why I switched to Meguiar's #21, although it's giving me the same problems)

I haven't gotten the cloudiness on a fresh bottle of NXT, it seems to happen after the bottle has been opened for close to a year. For example, on my first bottle of NXT it worked great for the first 17 coats, then on #18 the problems began. I bought a brand new one and coat #1 went on just fine, then I put the bottle away and switched brands for about a year. When I started using the NXT again, the second coat from that same bottle started acting up again!

I've had very good results when using liquid NXT topped by liquid Black Magic on a black metal flack paint job. NXT alone does look good but it needs a carnuba layer. I've had two applications of NXT followed by two of the Black Magic and the car sheats and beads like a champ months later.

I felt the liqiud NTX was easier to use than the paste but both are the easiest I've ever used. Both my trucks are light colors and they look great. I also agree that either one doesn't last more than 3 months if your washing you Car/Truck very often.

You should look into Meguiar's #21 synthetic sealant then. It shares many of the same properties as NXT, but with a few added bonus's. Number one, it lasts way longer, number two, it's even easier to buff off! I recently switched from NXT to #21 and I am extremely happy!

I tried the NXT paste on my '95 Civic- the shine didn't hold up well at all, though it was pretty when first done. It does smell good though...

Everyone's different...

Thanks! I give it a try as well
