Yes you nailed it. That is the exception, not the rule. Still we are paying a lot more in most of Southern Ca than others. In my area (Northern San Diego County) gas has been from about 3.00 a gallon (Costco, Sam's Club) to as much as 3.55 for some Chevron or Shell stations. For the most part, I'd say the average is about 3.19 - 3.29 which is much better than even a couple of months ago, but still way higher than many other states and way higher than it should be.

As was previously mentioned they have to pay for the "Bullet Train" somehow!

You don't know how bad the lifestyle and the cost of living is.....until you leave. Retired to Utah....one of the best things I have EVER DONE. I have a son in Corona I visit one or twice a year....other than spending time with him, it's a horrible place anymore. 38 million people.......

I'm glad you like it where you are.
Personally, I love it here. The opportunity is like no where else in the world.
I made so many mistakes for the 1st 33 years of my life. Due to the schools and Silicon Valley opportunity, well, let's just say things have changed.

So good for you based on your needs and good for me based on mine.

Seems these morons out here in taxifornia love their high gas prices. A recent ballot measure to repeal the governor's back door 12 cent per gallon tax increase was denied by the voters and by a serious margin too.

Yikes! California is significantly worse than Ontario

Gasoline is $0.909/L at Costco for Regular, $1.049/L for 91 octane. I filled up the Jeep this evening, it's the cheapest I've seen it in quite some time. That makes Regular $3.44/gallon (USD), $3.97/gallon (USD) for 91.

Yep. Everyone I know voted to get rid of the latest gas and registration taxes. So how did we not pass it?

Fwiw I took that pic at the highest priced station in my area for fun. But it was busy with cars and uhaul trucks in line to fill up.

Not me. I'm cheap and went down the street where its only $3.36 for regular.

Everything is in perspective I guess. Gas here recently dropped to less than $2/gallon. Cheaper elsewhere, more expensive elsewhere, too.
I've got an uncle and cousins in the Los Angeles area and have been there several times. It's a great place to visit, but after seeing some of the prices, it's nice to come home.

In a way you have a point.
CA is the 5th largest economy in the world.
We pay far more than any other state in Federal taxes.
We subsidize many other poorer states.
"With great wealth comes great responsibility."

But paying that much is pretty dumb when you can drive a block and pay $3.29 or whatever!
I sure as heck ain't gonna do it.
