When I went to Cincinnati last week, there was a MCD's off of every interstate exit in Kentucky. Amazed to say the least..

I agree completely. But, how many times do you think someone orders a double cheeseburger and nothing else? They need a way to get you in the door. Fries and soda have huge profit margins. Especially soda.
This thinking became clear to me years ago when I bought my daughter some kind of kid's meal at Burger King. The entire meal was 1.99 and it came with a toy that had a battery in it and it lit up. I said to my dad, how do they give you a meal with chicken fingers, fries, a drink and a dessert and then throw a toy in there for 1.99? He replied "To get you in there to buy a double whopper, Fries and a large soda".

It's always quite apparent who their regular customers are. You can spot them from hundreds of metres in any direction as they waddle down the walk.

You are what you eat. It's a McBody.

There's a group of women that I used to work with (before I retired) that went to McDonalds/Burger King/Subway nearly every day for lunch. Each one had a jumbo backside. They would bring a sandwich, fries and large diet soda back to the office. They were also on a perpetual diet.

I just shake my head in disgust at anyone who stuffs their face with that garbage.

I was actually told by a doctor years ago to NEVER eat McDonald's french fries. In his opinion, they are the most godawful thing on the planet. As soon as I stopped eating them, I lost weight and stopped getting headaches. I don't miss them.

^^^ Perhaps the large Amount of TransFat in them?? I cut down on fast food as much as possible. Sometimes reluctantly I'm still there once or twice a week. But anymore it's usually only Wendy's or Subway or the occassional MCDs or a rare BK (I will just get the grilled chicken sandwich there). I know none of it's Healthy, but at least at Wendy's They've gone Trans Fat free cooking oils(I think their fries have 1 gr for a large), and so I won't die as fast :)

I think that french fries also produce a lot of acrylamide, a pretty nasty substance.

The greater the surface area to volume ratio, the more you get.

If mould and bacteria won't eat eat it, it's probably not that healthy.

I believe mcdonalds announced going trans fat free a few years ago, as of now, they haven't switched. Mcdonald's cited "customers expect a certain level of quality with our fries" the taste would not be there. anyone see super size me movie?

But they have stopped putting beef stock in their fries.

I think certain areas from articles I've read have gone to trans fat free oils for "taste testing"

IMO can't tast a difference in fried foods whether they are in TF saturated oils, or TF free oils.

"Before switching to pure vegetable oil in 1990, McDonald's corporation cooked its french fries in a mixture of 93% beef tallow and 7% cottonseed oil."

Now those are some REAL french fries.

mmmmmmm, beeeeef tallow.

I have no intention of grabbing lunch and wolfing it down between cell phone calls while navigating the mall parking lot.

We all live in the same society and we are all responsible for the choices we make. Its not that people don’t have time to eat right, they choose not to make the time to eat right. Even more disgusting than McFood are those who say that the fast food industry is somehow responsible for obesity…cop out, cop out, cop out!

And speaking of McD's fries, those things DON’T decay. Imagine what happens in your stomach!

These quotes say it best:
"You are what you eat. It's a McBody."
"I just shake my head in disgust at anyone who stuffs their face with that garbage."
"I just don't understand who would eat this sh1te. Why people why? "

McGoodness…yum!

I had a McDonald's chicken biscuit yesterday for the first time, and I must say that I rather liked it

And their double cheeseburgers are made with crack laced onions, because those SOB's are addictive.

I see it like this - yes your body passes them, but do see actual fries in your stool? Im guessing no (guessing since I wouldnt eat them). So your body breaks it down and all those "things" (sorry to be so technical

) that keep those fries intact for months are now absorbed into your mcbody! Just WOW!

As a general rule, people are too manipulated by media (and/or stupid) to be left to their own devices. I feel this is proven my how sucessful McDs is across the world....I think they spend some 20 billion dollars per year on advertising.
