Found some gallons of maxlife atf full synthetic for 13.00 on clearance. Is it worth buying it all at this price. Apparently they don't sell it by the gallon anymore.

It's on clearance because save for the parrots on BITOG, nobody buys the junk. Do yourself a favor and leave the junk on the shelf.

Not sure who "they" is, but first I've heard of that. Gallons still listed at Advance Auto and select Walmarts in this area.

In any case, $13.00/gal is an excellent price for ML. 40k+ miles using it in an 01 Civic, no compliants or issues.

Valvoline only lists it by the quart on their website.

15,000+ miles on it in my 2000 Century, working great, still nice and clean. I'll be using it again next time I change the fluid. For the price you can't beat it.

They still sell it in the gallons. MaxLife ATF has worked well for me in 4 vehicles. I will continue using it.

OK... LOL. Having a rough life?

Maxlife ATF is an excellent ATF and $13 is a great price.

Living the dream! MaxLife is garbage, so is everything else with a Valvoline name.

I'm thinking the website is not, nor has been indicative of the complete size offerings of ML. I don't see 5qt/5+qt jug sizes pictured/listed in Valvoline/MaxLife motor oil offerings on their website either, but they are common and available. Afaik and can remember the quart size is all that's ever been pictured as part of their site. In checking local WM's, just noticed ML gallons has very recently been added as a stock item at the closest area WM.

That aside, $13/gal for ML is a good price.

On a more serious note, ML atf by the gallon is $16.xx at Walmart, and I've never seen it cheaper. So $13 is a great deal! I too have used it many times in the past and have always been happy with it.

MaxLife's target market is vehicles out of warranty. I for one give Ashland credit for concocting a fluid to perform well in the intended application even if it technically fails to meet an old spec.

For the record- not one of my vehicles currently has an Ashland (Valvoline) oil in it, other than some chassis grease. So I'm not exactly shilling for them... but geez, to say "anything with the Valvoline label" is garbage is pretty much down there with "I'd rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy."

Well hey there Mr. Grumpypants. It's worked very well for me as a substitute for Toyota WS.

I disagree. Redline & Amsoil are better.
