Dude if you have a gm truck you're one tiny clip away from a cooler line exchange. It's way easier, way faster than doing that. It takes 30 mins to replace all of it. It's the passenger side upper line. Just pop that off, connect a hose with a Barb to a pan. Turn on the engine and start pumping 3 quarts at a time. It doesn't get any easier

Doable, but realize the rubber seal is inside of the fitting screwed into the rad. Damage that seal and someday on the highway you'll lose all your ATF.
 
That's ever happened to me. I've done it this way for years. Once you've done it this way a couple of times you'll say why was I doing it any other way. It's really that simple. Other GM's Nissan's Toyotas I do them that way too. Just different ways of disconnecting the cooler line. And I can use that same 3/8 inch hose over and over for all of them.

Not over 200, but in the high 180s. I found a site that sells ACdelco dex vi cheap, going to try another cooler line exchange in the spring back to OEM. See if it makes a difference.

Do not use in a AWD transfer case requiring dex III. Too thin makes it slip around corners.



180F is normal operating temperature for that transmission.
