Love her or hate her she lived a tremendous life and rose to significant influence. She had a clear idea of what she wanted to accomplish and by and large she did so and that commands respect.

Here is hoping all of us accomplish our lives goals and live long and healthily enough to enjoy the accomplishment.

This, unlike movie critic Eberts passing, is real news. This IS significant.

The timing of her in power along with Reagan here was an excellent match.North Korea wouldnt be playing games if both of them were still in power.

+1 !!

Great Britain had two great leaders/PM's in the 20th century Thatcher and Churchill. The rest don't even warrant a mention.

Rest in peace, Madam Prime Minister. As a teenager in the Eighties living through the realities & potentialities of MAD, I sure felt glad that PM Thatcher & President Reagan were 'on watch.' Their lock-step approach to the Soviet Union saw us all through - make no mistake. Those two people (combined w/ the undeniable global effort of Pope John Paul ll) allowed for the the Soviets to finally come to reality, put the Andropov's away & present the world w/ another great leader, Gorbachev. Kudos to President GB1 as well.

She is the greatest British PM since Sir Winston. She led her nation in the rightious reclamation of British sovereign territory & faced down some of the worst examples of political trade unionism that her nation had thus far produced. The following is a quote from September, 1983:

"When the state does everything for you, they soon take everything from you."

Too right, that...! Anyway, she has my gratitude & respect.

John.

that might mean something if you were actually a UK citizen.

She's not about "freedom" when she's selling out 6 million people's future for a nuclear power plant in China. Business is business I guess, but nothing more and noting less than a normal human being.

I don't understand what it is that you're driving at here - the guy's living in the States & therefore isn't entitled to his opinion? I haven't even visited the UK but I know that I agree w/ the man's opinion whole-heartedly. Am I right? How the h_ll do I know? Do I have an opinion? Sure do. So does he. Your comment was dismisive of his opinion & came off as a bit harsh.

Am I missing your point? If so then I apologise in advance.

I'd be much more interested in what someone who actually lived there and under many UK leaders think about her. Frankly it smacks of Palin Base type comments.
